Instead of being so negative about this you could at least give the people who have experienced this the benefit of a doubt... Clearly you have not experienced this with your cats...and there are possibly even more people who have but are not speaking out about it on the forums since not everyone uses them. Hopefully someone can get a SS of this actually happening so then you can be the one saying "Wow it can happen!? "What was I thinking telling them it cant"
I'm indeed the first to doubt myself but it just happened too many times now.
Being given the benefit of the doubt would indeed be nice
With mine i spent a fair deal of L for a bali flame girl, i opened her and my Short-hair Tawny and White Tabby at the same time, PARTNERED them (you cant partner a boy /boy) and they grew for 11 days partnered, then 2 more not. I knew i would not be online when they hit 14 days and 100% love so i repartnered them and sent them online. When i got up the next day. the T&W was no where to be found and the girl was now a boy. but there was a "perfect storm" of things, my sim was wonky all day and ate about 10 cats, and right about the time i sent the cats online is when the 1.30 version came out. my bali flame boy still bares the name diana because i refused to change it lol....
While i will admit some users may mistake the cats but i had walked around with them with the info on and had a girl on one arm and a boy on the other.... for days i could see mistaking it one or even a few times but constantly for 13 days? not so much.
When a cat is "created" (in a box) the gender setting is saved totally separate inside the box and inside the pedigree.
The cat which is born from the box gets its gender from the box, not the pedigree.
If you would ever see the in world info not match the pedigree you can know for sure something is wrong.
Additionally you should be able to see in your pedigree pages if your cat ever had a baby kitten with a cat from the same sex.
So far noone has ever reported a case where the gender displayed by the cat or box doesn't match the gender in the pedigree.
If you would have such a situation, just let us know in a ticket.

Both my brother and me were sure that we had a male and female combination and had partnered them too. Then a fortnight later, when the kittens were unable to mate, we noticed that they were both males. We both assumed that it was our error and we had both made the same mistake in reading the details on the cats. Now, perhaps we think, one of them had actually changed sex!
