Breeding Basics

Breeding Fast Facts

• Cats breed until they are 120 days old. At 121 days, Love turns off and they cannot Breed.

• Cats start gaining Love on day 7 if Breed is on.

Cats reach 100% Love around age 14-17 days.

Breeding is instant. There is NO pregnancy period.

Kittens are born in a box. Boxes can be stored in inventory or in our online cattery/box storage.

• Kittens born from starter cats are transferable.

Size is 100% Random.

Each cat born has the chance to have the Floofy head.

How Breeding Works

Your cats must meet the following stat requirements to breed:

•  ♥♥ Love 100%

•  ☻ Happiness 75% or higher

•  ↯  Energy 25% or higher (cat must be awake)

•  모☁  Hunger below 25%

• Cats must be awake and in range of each other's Home points.

Cats do not have to be partnered unless they have separate owners or are in the Online Cattery.

• When cats are ready to breed, they should produce a kitten box in 15 minutes or less.

Gaining Love

• Love is the primary stat for breeding. Cats will gain 10% Love daily until they reach 100%. This takes 10 days.

• Daily Love gain can be increased to 14% Love daily through Interactions or Vita-Milk.

• Interactions or Vita-Milk grant a boost to Happiness, which affects Love gain.

• This boost allows your cat to go from 0%-100% Love in 7 days.

• Learn more about Interactions and Vita-Milk on the following pages: InteractionsVita-Milk

º Some interactions are limited by size! Please see the Interactions article for more information.

Vitamins

• Vitamins can be used to adjust stats so they are ready for breeding.

• Learn more about different vitamins and how to use them here: Vitamins

How Traits are Passed

• Cats have two possibilities for each trait category. One is visible, the other is hidden. (example: "eye color" category can be 2 different colors)

• Traits in this context can be Genesis/starter traits. (example: Fur trait could be "Genesis Coco")

• Both traits will come from the parents (shown and hidden). One trait comes from the mom, and one from the dad.

• If the kitten has mom's visible fur trait its hidden fur will be from the dad. It can't have mom's hidden trait.

• Breeding is like a coin toss. When two cats breed, these are the possibilities:

° Pass their visible trait to the offspring.

° Pass their hidden trait to the offspring.

There are four possible outcomes:

1. Both cats pass their visible traits

2. Both cats pass their hidden traits

3. Mom passes her visible trait and dad passes his hidden trait

4. Mom passes her hidden trait and dad passes his visible trait

The kitten's visible trait is the more dominant of the two traits passed down from the parents.

A cat's visible trait is always more dominant than its hidden trait.

The more recessive trait passed will become the kitten's hidden trait.

Example:

In the image above, the Ocicat - Ebony Silver kitten inherited its visible fur from its father.

This means that the kitten's hidden fur is from the mother.

The kitten's hidden fur could be either the mother's visible "Abyssinian - Dark Chocolate", or it could be the mother's hidden fur.

Non-Breedable Traits

Sizes are 100% random, so you can not breed two sized cats together in order to get a size. Every cat bred has a chance at being a special size.

º You can see a display of all the cat sizes in our Customer Pavilion here: KittyCatS Size Display

Head Shapes are 100% random, so you can not breed two floofy headed cats together in order to get a floofy head. Every cat bred has the chance

to have a head other than Rollie Pollie.
