Yes, that is a good idea...but i was referring to the mention of boycott and sanctions and banning (see Tad's note). Geez, I would think that people could think more creatively about how to make things better for everyone.

Most of all I love that minds are working positively. And judging from the number of private replies, this is a concern to many. So I'm glad I started this thread and in the process have gotten to know alot more people.

I guess when i said Boycott, I didn't mean walking around with picketing signs ... just "don't buy the stuff you don't approve of." We vote with our lindens every day. As for banning ... gosh, I have to confess that if a sim has banned someone i like and respect, banned for some unknown or arbitrary reason, then i am less likely to go there to shop. I don't like banning people unless they are griefers. There is a huge market that i don't go to for that reason ... well, i still go sometimes, but not as much. And i dropped the group (until forced to rejoin, probably temporarily). Go ahead, ban people, but be aware that they have friends. You ban someone, you put off their friends. It makes me worry, "they could ban me too, for no reason, and ... i just don't need to set myself up for that kind of rejection, after paying to use their services. " So i don't.

Very good placement Vrem. Perhaps the poor person who banned me from, Felines Too adorable, can read it. Totally arbitrary and impartial. If you do not play KC with her ??rules, you're banned.

Responding to page 1 posts (I've no idea what's going on in this thread now):

I do perceive a problem in cat pricing, but I have zero hope that people will change their behavior: Every day I see people asking what they should price their cats. Most repliers give a range with an added implication that if you want your cat to sell, you'd better price below that. Then they say the market is falling and imply the inquirer probably shouldn't even bother. Sometimes I unkindly suspect that responders are actually planning to buy it themselves for the lowest price they can convince the seller to use.

You hardly ever see someone say "Price at the top of your range. Don't start at the bottom and start digging." And really, do new sellers even know how to regard a suggested range? "Oh, I'm just a beginner, my cat couldn't possibly be worth as much as the price that was just quoted." Ahem. You asked for YOUR cat to be priced. That is indeed what YOUR cat is worth. Start at the high value. Given enough time, it will probably sell for that price. And don't go below the minimum.

And as for "If you want your cat to sell..." no one ever notices they never complete that phrase. What they mean is "If you want your cat to sell THIS WEEK". That's a bad marketing plan in real life, and it's a bad marketing plan in virtual life.

I was into kitties since almost the beginning, and I've been out of kc for a year or more.

Sometimes I come to forums and chuckle to see the same debates and complaints that we had 3 years ago. lol

I went threw the rags to riches back to rags with kitties. I have to say that in a market that has grown so huge and has so many ppl that mostly buy and sell in clicks, the market isn't going to change. It will always have it's rags and riches stages.

It's not like the days when a rare trait stayed rare for months or took months to breed out of a starter. It's not like the days when we had two sims for shops.

I can go into the everyone uses the non dom traits to pull the dom traits out and waters down the value of the new more dom trait. (omg I forgot the word recessive till now haaaaaaaaaaaa been a while)

I saw top breeders drop their prices way down (compared to what they used to sell them for) just to keep up because the market dropped so low.

Not everyone can afford to keep kitties and try to make enough money to be able to keep our hobbies going. A lot of ppl love breeding kitties. (I did) But when it came down to groceries or kitties I ended up choosing groceries. (and put on ten pounds....guess I should have stuck to kitties haaaaaa)

I've seen good unknown breeders that had amazing boxes sit on shelves for weeks till they dropped them down to nothing before anyone would buy them.
So unless the ppl that complain about the cheaper pricing start talking with their wallets and offer the sellers of the 100L boxes more money. They will keep selling them cheaper.

It's not up to KC to regulate the market and the pricing. It's up to all of you. Put your money where your mouth is. But in a market this size you will all be broke in a day. rofl

It's like a commercial I saw a while back. They should replace the word cocain with kitties. lol (That was me the true Kitty addict! lol)

Not to be the devil's advocate. but.
In my opnion, I see no problem, someone sell their kittens for 100l. In the end the question will always be: is that you pay my bills? is that you pay my rental? Not?


This is the maximum rule: "anyone can sell 'your kitten,' or 'your work' for the price you want."


When you need lindens for basic expenses like rent, the solution to send menagerie kittens, does not work. Unless, I can pay my rent with K$ KC dolares.

Another point is, are required to send 8 Cats menagerie, get 1 for food, but 8 kittens sold at 105L $ each, you buy one package of food 5. Do the math!

Or better yet, talk to the person who had to do this kind of action. You have saw many positive responses. Certainly it was never the intention of the person to break the market, just get 'breath' for herself continue with your hobbi.
