RE: Suggestion: Gender before birth
I would love to be able to see the sex of un-opened boxes it would allow me to decide what box's to keep for a latter date and what box's to sell. Prim is always a issue in my store and at home. I have 56 kitties! Yes 56 some of them are reaching that dreaded 120 day mark. I have box's I would love to open and start getting up to breeding age but I am faced with opening really good box's and them being the wrong sex and then having no room to put them in my home or store and spending money on food on kitties that I really should not be spending money on... or sending them of to menagerie *sighs* and I hate to send really good kitties off to the menagerie.

Also allowing us to see the sex on the kitties would help sell box's. I hear it time and time again from people looking at my box's IF ONLY I knew the sex of the box I would buy it! Why cause they have the perfect boy or girl at home but don't want to spend lin on a box that may end up being the same sex.

So I beg beg beg you please please please add sex to the box's Smile thank you!

RE: Suggestion: Gender before birth
I must admit that I - maybe slightly foolish - was hoping for a way to see gender on boxes in the update we just had... Like many others, I have lots of boxes that i would love to open, if only I could be sure I could breed them together.

Is there any "official" word on this - if it will be considered, if it's in planning... or if it's just a plain old "Never!!"... ? ;-)

Hi all :-)

The hidden gender for cats in boxes was introduced and concidered as part of the breeding "challenge", similar to that you don't know the second traits of a cat when you buy it.

You will only know the cats gender when you take it out of the box and examin it, like how it would be in Real Life Smile

Regards,
KittyCatS.

I think here though the challenge for breeders is juggling prims, a lot of us are to a point now where we don't have the prim to open many box's to find the right sex at home, in our catteries or in our shops. I also believe that knowing the sex of kitty's before you buy a box would help all of our sells. I can have a box sitting in my store for weeks on ends but as soon as I open the same box I can sell that kitty with in a week in my store and for the most part I can sell it for more then what the box was set for sale as. I truly believe this is due to people then knows the sex they are getting cause they can take the kitty home and match it with there own kitties. Once again this boils down to prim we can have 13 box's out or just 1 13 prim kitty.

Also in Real Life you can always do ultra sounds Smile

RE: Suggestion: Gender before birth
Sorry, KittyCats, but the Real Life excuse seems a it far fetched to me... If we should compare Kittycats to real life, then... no, let's not even start! ;-)

Now that we've all come with our various reasons why we think gender ought to be visible on boxes, is there no other reason for it NOT to be than simply "the challenge"? In my view it adds to frustration more than fun, especially for small and/or new breeders. I think we would see a lot more of those without that particular "challenge" ;-)

If you are worried that fewer boxes will be birthed if gender was visible, I must say I don't think so. I got at least 6 boxes that I'd LOVE to birth, if only I knew they could pair up... And I think that is the case with many others out there.

Besides, the girl & boy starter boxes are really cute, hehe <3

RE: Suggestion: Gender before birth
Totally agrees ... as most of us do face prim issues in our catteries and even in our shops .. we just have to know what we are birthing. If the "wrong" gender pops out of the box we are forced to sell it ... even we do not want to part with the traits or that kitty

RE: Suggestion: Gender before birth
heya all...

thank for the opportunity to chime in here. we value your input and comments greatly and i can tell you for a fact one of our core policies is to never give "excuses". reasons perhaps (as we see them) but not "excuses". so i hope that clears that up on what KittyCatS said about real life Smile

we read each and every suggestion that is offered and do our best to implement things that we agree on that will make their KittyCatS experience more enjoyable. Smile

That is also one of our core goals, that our customers "enjoy" their experience in both our product and community.

There are many things we've introduced since launching in February and have TONS of other fun things that we hope you all will enjoy and we like to get your input. So know that even if we don't have an answer at the moment, the comments are not disregarded or taken lightly Smile

We may not have a "yes", "no" or "maybe" to give on some issues at some of the times they are asked for. And if it is a "no" as in KittyCats reply, please also know that we often bring various ideas "back" to the table to discuss them, which is why your input is so appreciated

Again thank you for your suggestion and reasons you have for this idea and taking the time to let us know Smile

As mentioned by KittyCat Princess, its indeed not an excuse, its just a descision we initially made Smile
The gender information is available in the boxes, just not shown.

RE: Suggestion: Gender before birth
So it seems like this is the end of this discussion and no point for us to say how much we really need to see the sex on the box. Our reasons are very valid ones, as we have stated due to prims home and store. It is hard to open so many box's and no where to put the kitties, and it would help sells of box's... I just wish that it would be something that may had yes been an initially made decision for KittyCats but could of been something that now after they had been out so long and a need to show the sex that since so many of your customers would love this you would of at least thought about changing. Not one person I have talked to have thought this was a bad idea infact every I speak to says yes we would LOVE to see the sex on boxs!
