why is there no firestorm cat this year?

Hi all,

We love the Firestorm team and for the past 3 years we were thrilled to celebrate and being able to make a special cat for their celebration for them and you to enjoy.

Many factors determine which things we do. Some of them being time and what we're working on, etc.

We'd love to do everything we're asked to do or that we'd like to do. We simply can not.

We're happy you enjoy the different things we do. Who knows what the future may bring! (Well of course the cats do, and we all know they call the shots)

Having a free trial PermaPet helps bring people into KittyCats whether it has any affiliation with Firestorm or not. It was easy to take a new potential customer to the store to try one - no food to buy or anything else needed to get them started - and then get them "addicted" from there. Not having this type of intro kitty is lost advertising - for ALL of us.

Oh my.....all i can say as an avid collector......I did miss the Firestorm kitty....but certainly not enough to get upset! KC is a wonderful community & we get many freebies through out the year. I am looking forward to the Halloween kitties that should be coming out soon! Woo Hoo (not free btw) lol

In as far as the time needed from the creators, I wouldn't mind if they had just kept the old one. Even just having the "free trail" at the store makes a big difference in regard to people who are curious about KittyCats. See what I said above re: advertising.

Sad for KittyCatS! I actually started buying and breeding Kitties because of a free Firestorm cat. I was VERY reluctant to get a breedable, because I figured it was a money sucking scam. But I gave in because the Firestorm cat was free and didn't need food. Well, it was so cute that I just had to get more (despite having my Lindens sucked off, lol).
