Fantastic. I'm so glad thats been cleared up. Explains why I never saw anything of the rumour I heard. Am still going to dig in my one just out of curiousity now and I'll breed the pair again and see if I can't get the second proof for Saga Smile

RE: New Australian Mist - Dark Chocolate recessives
AM-DC is recessive to Bali Chocolate.

"Sherlock" is British SH C&W shown fur, hiding AM-DC as his recessive fur.
Since the kitten has Bali Chocolate fur shown, we know he has to have at least AM-DC, Sherlock's hidden fur, as the kitten's hidden.

... and here again is the pedigree from "Sherlock's" AM-DC kitten, that proved his hidden fur to be AM-DC.

Sometimes the cats give us a quick proof. Smile

RE: New Australian Mist - Dark Chocolate recessives
The first kitten from my AM-DC bred to Ivy's Bali Lilac has AM-DC fur shown. Unpacked to check the hidden fur.

I had another AM-DC x Pandie Plat (AM-DC fur shown) reveal the wrong hidden. He was hiding AM-BM fur. So removed that cat and his partner from the mat.
I still have one more AM-DC x Pandie Plat test kitten (Pandie fur shown), unpacked and gaining love.

She is unboxed for testing and her parents repartnered.

The girl above has just had a box. A beautiful Australian Mist.
It's a blue, though, so a failure. I expect a new box from the parents today, so we'll see.

Awww, I'm sorry Reven. Those Blondies are sure coming in useful these days, though

9/14 the second test kitten from Bali Lilac x AM-DC has Bali fur shown. Holding this box in reserve until I see what the first Test kitten (AM-DC shown fur) hides.

My AMDC X Chateau Coffee & Cream have finally dropped a box with Chateau fur shown.

I'm keeping the box out at my mat until we have results of the other tests that are going on now. A new box from my second AMDC X Foxie Blondie test kitten is due in a week or so.
