RE: New Australian Mist - Dark Chocolate recessives
Finally one of my proofs pans out

Mom shows Bengal Black
Dad shows Ocicat Blue
Baby shows Australian Mist Dark Chocolate proving Dad's hid and that AMDC is recessive to Ocicat Blue

RE: New Australian Mist - Dark Chocolate recessives
I've now gotten two Bali Blue-furred test kittens from my Bali Blue x AM-DC breedings. Both unpacked -- keeping fingers crossed.
(The Pandie Fawn cross keeps giving Pandie shown furs also, which all would fit if AM-DC turns out to be rec to the Bali Blue.)

I know several people are also doing this test. Wondered what all y'all are getting thus far?

RE: New Australian Mist - Dark Chocolate recessives
And... AM-DC is recessive to Pandie Fawn. One step closer.

Mega AM-DC was bred to LeiLei (Pandie Fawn fur shown) and produced 'Pandemonium' (Pandie Fawn fur shown).
Pandemonium was then bred to Fall's Curacao (Burmilla Red fur shown) and produced an AM-DC furred kitten.
Since Burmilla Red is already known to be recessive to Pandie Fawn, the AM-DC fur had to come from Pandemonium and is his hidden fur.
Thus AM-DC is recessive to Pandie Fawn.

RE: New Australian Mist - Dark Chocolate recessives
Great Work Hap, getting there slowly. I have a Tawny & White Tabby male starter if anyone has an Aussie DC girl they want to pop him with, my AMDC is a boy unfortunately Sad
On the other hand I have a Bali Blue boy starter as well so maybe time to pop a girl AMDC, they may even be fully tested by the time she grows up.

RE: New Australian Mist - Dark Chocolate recessives
I know what you mean when you say it might be all sorted out and proven by the time they grow up. That has happened to me a few times too.
I actually have a Tawny & White Tabby paired up with my AustMistDC at the moment and in a few days I should have my first baby. Depending if I see TawnyWhite or the AustMistDC and the possible more recessive hiddens on each side of the parents, I will Plan to open and breed to most recessive fur I have and get the hidden to show. But again it might be all sorted out by the time I can visually prove anything. Smile

RE: New Australian Mist - Dark Chocolate recessives
I haven't popped a girl yet. Was too busy clearing out cats I'm finished with and updating my projects.
I'll see how it all shakes out this week and maybe cheat and pick one up off the live tables. I'll go Bali Blue since Bree already has a Tawny & white.

RE: New Australian Mist - Dark Chocolate recessives
My first Bali Blue x AM-DC test cat threw her shown Bali fur this week.. waiting on her and her Bali furred sister to both have another chance to reveal hiddens in six to seven days from now.
