RE: How are the Confetti kitties going for you?
What you consider remarkable, Tad? I have menageried all of the non-Confetti offspring, but I got several Aussie Lilac and I was sorely tempted to keep them, because I do like that fur a lot.

Well, Charm did discover Galaxy Sun from a Confetti Starter bred with a Confetti offspring. Of course, she kept that.

RE: How are the Confetti kitties going for you?
I found this conversation interesting and it made me want to see how mine and my partners' kitties were doing. The first three on my list are cats I borrowed from Cody to get me started. So here is what we have done so far. BB is blueberry and AB is appleberry. I also added the traits because I'm curious to see if they will eventually increase with the kitties we are breeding or if we will have to add more starters.

RE: How are the Confetti kitties going for you?
Cody/Flair results show about 1 in 5.7 odds of getting any Confetti
Fabio results show about 1-in-4 odds of getting any Confetti
Charm results show about 1-in-8 odds of getting any Confetti
Eleanor8 results show about 1-in-5 odds of getting any Confetti
These results are making me think that the correct odds are around 1-in-6.
Possibly interesting observation. This may mean nothing, or might indicate something .. there's really not enough data to be sure. But .. when I look at the age of the parent, taking that as an indication of how long ago it was produced (which is also a shaky assumption but all I can do) I note that the odds, early on, were low, then, a month or three after they came out, parents seemed to produce significantly more Confetti than before (or now) but, a couple-three months after that, results started to slide again. Now, that could be faulty assumptions. And it could be poor data. Or it could simply be random variation. But, if it holds, it causes me to wonder why things got a lot better for a few months, a couple months after initial release, then started getting worse again. For example, Fabio's data indicates an over-all average of 1-in-4; but if I graph over time (by parent age) I get a couple months at 1-in-8-ish range, then a couple months at 1-in-2 range, followed by a long slide down to 1-in-4ish range; and if I do a regression analysis of his results, his trend is currently worse .. more like 1-in-5ish and heading down; so it'll be interesting to see if his results come back up or if then continue to slide over the coming months. But, then again, this could be all smoke and mirrors because there's really not enough data to be sure. [ETA Eleanor8 and Cody/Flair seem to show similar changes over time, just not as pronounced.]

RE: How are the Confetti kitties going for you?
I have close to no luck with my confetti cats and I don't care so much.
I have a set amount of breeding couples and I always stick to that so I never regret I feed too many mouths.
Because I breed since 2011 I am still fascinated to see what these buggers might bring me: it is something new :-)
Breeding in general to me is a about a lot of patience.
I love that about breeding I feel tranquil by it.
What I do find interesting is that my cocoberry starters both hide a Glitter shade or...
Maybe there is a confetti shade in one of them no idea I am excited
Luckily the Glitter shade is present on a Cocoberry now and not only on regular OS cats from which I have loads with and without shade.

RE: How are the Confetti kitties going for you?
In order of dominance, the only shades which can appear on Confetti are: Natural, Flair, Illume, and Glitter.
Porcelain, Twinkle, Flash, and Blush were retired prior to the introduction of Confetti Cats. Hence, they are impossible to ever appear on a Confetti.
Your Glitter is as deeply recessive as you can ever see. Here's hoping you can get it to appear. Since it's hidden, the odds are 1-in-4. Which puts the odds somewhere between 1-in-16 (Fabio's estimate) to 1-in-40 (my estimate) that you'll be able to get it out on a Confetti. In other words, maybe, if Fabio's estimate holds, and if you're very lucky, AND if you use Milk every day, AND ALSO if you use Love-10 every two days on BOTH parents, you'll win the lottery before they age out.

Winning the lottery hmm yush I want that with money that is
I know Glitter is the most recessive not retired shade but one never knows if they may hide a new Confetti Shade.
Doubtful but still..

Step 1 - choose if the cat will be born confetti
dad - YES or NO
mom - YES or NO
Results possibilities:
NO and NO = cat genesis
NO and YES = genesis cat
YES and NO = cat genesis
YES and YES = cat confetti
for me, the chance to be born other confetti is 25%, ie 1 in 4 cats.
I'm not sure I would agree with this math Fabao.
You're assuming YES and NO each have a 50% chance of happening, and we don't know this for sure.
Imagine that YES can occur 25% of the time, and NO 75%
then with two cats, you would get two YES 12.5% of the time
that would mean, just as an example, one breeding in 8 will pass confetti.
Your observations may show otherwise; but we don't know the actual probability of YES and NO choices, so we have to rely on the info KC has given us if any.

RE: How are the Confetti kitties going for you?
wish i'd found this thread before i bought my starters. got seven [omitted] kittens before getting two confetti. so i can reenter the confetti lottery again once the starters age out. but since i was wanting to trade/breed my way to a rainbow of flair shade, the very low odds of them even being confetti at all makes the likelihood of such trades nil. wish i'd gone for the mega disco tiger instead and will once my supply of menagerie bait is large enough again.
