I don't think it has to do with being attached because petting in normal cats is supposed to help with love and happiness as well.

BUT what about the manual where it states:

Just says that petting AND milk wont stack. The max your gonna get is a 30 percent boost!

Ok, that needs to be clarified, because Kitten always told me petting does not increase love, only happiness & slower than by cuddling/holding.

yeah, a little clarity on the whole petting and or riding would be super! I have been riding my mega more often than I have been holding his partner (no milk) and it seems that his love is increasing more rapidly than hers. It is harder to tell because they are one day apart though.

Me too milk was optional and could be replaced with cuddles is what us was told I believe.
