I have actually had way more people be upset that I hid from them. A lot of peope don't even bother to IM me if i've deleted them for mass tping me. I clear my list out once every few months. I guess it all depends on the person but I have deffinitly cleared my list recently for mass tping and if we don't talk. But in my experience I have had a bad reaction if I hide from them, I guess people take that more personally than being deleted. No idea but there's tons of solutions to not be mass tped, each to his own.
