Milk is an expensive substitute for cuddling/petting, and milk plus cuddling is a waste of milk. The two are not additive.
However cuddling or petting is much faster to raise the happiness than putting down milk.
Milk is a convenience when you don't have time or too many cats to cuddle or pet every day inworld, or you use the Cattery where you use milk to speed up the Love cycle. Don't even think about vitamins unless you are filthy rich and inpatient.
