A possible other reason for your problem could be that you bought the box while wearing a group that doesnt match the group of the land, and which isn't allowed to run scripts. On purchase, the group will change to your active group.
If you rerez the box, most viewers will apply the correct land group automatically, making the scripts work again.
This could very well be the case.
