RE: British Shorthair Cream & White - Recessivness
Ok, so looking at the narrowed range of where Brit should eventually place... we have the following furs currently set up for testing:

Aby Blue (*edited to note that the Aby Blue was very cooperative and has proved Dom to BSH C&W)
Foxie Red Mask (Kayla is setting up that pair)
Bengal Snow (I've just set up a pair, but the Bengal is still a kitten so it'll be a while)
Snowshoe Red (*edited post to add that Arwen is going to test this one)
Ocicat Chocolate (Pair produced a Brit kitten this week -- kitten unpacked for testing)

I have an ASH Blue & Wh, from an ASH Blue & Wh x Brit mating... but the Pedigrees for Russian Black knocked that fur out of range, so I am not testing that one.

*** If anyone happens to have an available adult female of a fur that is within the range of rec to Aby Blue (see next post; new ped proof) and Dom to Bali Lilac, I have a British male who could do another mating while waiting for my Bengal to mature.

Narrowed the range further...

Proof that Brit SH C&W is recessive to Aby Blue fur.

Well didn't have much luck there at all. Was quite disappointed to find it really hard to buy anything more dominant than a Bengal Black unless I wanted top 10 Dominant or Genesis.
To that end I'll breed the girl back to her Bali Choc son and see if they are more co operative in passing both shown furs, she has 2 breeds left in her.
I'll also open a Snowshoe Red and an British Shorthair mate so expect an update on those in a couple of weeks. Unless snowshoe red is ruled out by other tests before then Smile

Oh excellent Arwen... Snowshoe Red is a good fur to test too. I've been kicking myself for having sold all of mine (the Snow Reds) a while back, as now they'd be useful, lol.

TY for your help on the Brit placement project. I think if we all keep shotgunning it, we'll have that fur placed in no time. The potential range is really beginning to narrow down rapidly now. Smile

A concerted effort with regular progress updates on a thread like this is much better and I believe faster than random testing with no idea what anyone else is doing.

RE: British Shorthair Cream & White - Recessivness
Just a quickie for info but upon investigation of the pedigree the Snowshoe Red I am using is Pure, confirmed to be hiding in both her parents so she was a double hidden pull. Am glad I stashed her now, hopefully that will provide faster results Smile, well if we get British back anyway Smile

RE: British Shorthair Cream & White - Recessivness
That's excellent! LOL, I had been using a kittycorn originally for test matings, in hopes of getting any non gen fur thrown back at me (as I knew he hid Brit).
Unfortunately I seem to keep aiming too low and getting Brits back from him.

Will look forward to hearing what the Snowshoe gives you! Smile

I have a boxed Maine Coon - Calico Washed female sitting in waiting (as well as a Siam Choc), in case we narrow the placement in that direction and the fur is needed later. But I will hold off on unpacking until we see which direction the tests against the Foxie Red Mask, and Snowshoe Red furs look to be heading.

RE: British Shorthair Cream & White - Recessivness
First box from my Bali Choc lynx breed back to his mum has produced a British
Nitro is already known to hide Yetsyes hidden Foxie so I am opening the box to test and hope it hides the bali choc.
