British Shorthair Cream & White - Recessivness - Jag Jetcity - 04-06-2016 06:17 PM

Does anyone have information on the British Shorthair? I was really excited when my starter finally dropped it today (5th time is a charm to not get "Genesis")....but my findings don't help in the placements of it though since it was bred with a blue marble that's hiding Tonki Blue Mink

Hi Smile

My Love Birds, Purple Martina, hide the British Shorthair Cream & White.
I've bred her with a Blue Mink and with a Blue Marble and the British Shorthair has been dominant on them.

This week i bred her with a Burmese Champagne, and the British Shorthair is recessive to this fur Smile

Sorry for the size of the picture, tried to reduce but today really don't find the way Smile

I found Abyssinian - Dark Chocolate hiding behind British Shorthair - Cream & White

Has anyone else gotten any definitive results like Fabio has? Doesn't matter what I put my shower with, I get the same fur as her partner. Never the British....ugh!

It would help a lot if you shared the pedigrees of the offspring.

It might be more recessive than we think it is.

Cried when this one was born today but it does prove Cream & White is dominant to Foxie Salt & Pepper Mask

That's a great solid proof, Arwen. Good job. We may not always like what we find out on dominance but it's always good to narrow things down and get them placed accurately.

re-posting, as I had accidentally deleted...

Currently have a kittycorn/starter cat who carries British Shorthair C&W fur and Twilight eye, paired with an Aussie Dark Chocolate with Bronze eye. They have produced a Brit SH C&W with Twilight eye. The Test kitten is now paired with a Tonk Blue Mink /Dry Olive eyed mate to determine his hidden fur and eye.

I will update with info & additional pedigrees if/when we have more constructive results.
