Unfortunately, this does happen in SL, and is not just with KittyCats. Block and mute are your best pair of claws.

I think it happens because for every hundred or even thousand people spammed, someone will pay a visit and possibly make a purchase. That is a win for some people, I guess. Huh

Still, it helps to talk about it, because as you see, you are not alone. Sounds like this person was spamming out to a group, which isn't surprising. They will just make a new alt, rinse, and repeat. Ugh! Undecided
The same "666" guy approached my alt at the KittyCatS store this afternoon. Gave me a sad story about how he was leaving KC because his kitties didnt make good kittens...lol...but did I want to buy them?

It is interesting to read all your stories about this guy. I acted innocently after he posted in the "Affordable Kitties" group. He teleported me to his home and showed me his cats. They were all live and quite common with curious eyes etc. I told him I would take one ocicat for 150 L (because I have nearly ten ocicats like that already). He said to me, that he wants 300 L for that cat. I said that this price is too high for me. He said the cat is much more worth. I asked him if he read what our group "Affordable Kitties" is all about, then he started to insult me like "f*** you, f*** off, before I ban you, bi***!" I was quite surprised about his extreme reaction to it.

Needless to say that he just joined our group to spam and left it immediately after he insulted me.

I really feel sorry for the poor kitties who still have to be with such a mentally disturbed Person.

That's a big part of the issue. Someone who is going to disrespect you enough to first spam/troll you and then expect you to come to his place without any info whatsoever, is more likely to be disrespectful in other ways. Sometimes they are just looking for a fight, either because they enjoy being hateful, or because they enjoy someone yelling back at them, etc. Perhaps a more subtle kind of griefer... in kittycat's clothing.

I get trolls all the time, especially while at events or while modeling, but this was the first time I've had that happen (direct IM from someone I don't know while at my own place) regarding KittyCats. But, yes, yet another one to block. *sigh*

And RL too. Email spam has been around for decades, and before that some people spammed flyers to every phone number in a list in the hope of catching a fax machine.
And of course random mailings posted out to every address in a city "to the resident at this address".

ignore them, mute them, all you can do. Those advertising flyers at least make a nice base for my cat's litterbox stuff, the electronic variants are utterly useless fluff...
