How are the Confetti kitties going for you?

I've had pretty good luck so far i think.
Since a pair is about to age out, i'll give their rseults here:

my Plum X Lemon pair gave -2 Grape and -2 Plums.
Breeding Plum mom to her Grape son produced -1 Grape box (and apparently her son hides scotty fold somehow)

my Orange X Lemon(same lemon as above) have dropped -1 Orange and -1 Apple(where did that come from?)

Plum and lemon are both at 108 days now so i'll squeeze another 2 out i think(65% love atm) before they age out, and will update if anything notable pops out. :>
Pretty satisfied with my results so far, Trying to trait my way up

yep, feeding cats so you can go for some of the new breeds and furs is the best bet, in my opinion

On July 16th 2015 Callie introduced the Confetti cats to us (and the madness began).

So, Happy Birthday Confettis!

Probably a reasonable time to post an update on my confetti figures.

Up to now 934 boxes produced.

Mainly breeding offspring of my cats rather than new vendor cats (tried that with three new pairs at the time the Valentine cats were released - their results were not good). I have bought a few colours but last purchase was some considerable time ago.

Of the 934 boxes 745 were genesis or normal furs

105 were coloured confettis (34 Appleberry, 12 Blueberry, 9 Cherryberry, 11 Grapeberry, 3 Lemonberry, 12 Orangeberry, 10 Pinkberry, 12 Plumberry and 2 Tealberry) and 84 were cocoberries.

That gives a percentage total confettis born of 20%

The percentage of coloured confettis is 11% but that figure is driven by the number of coloured confetti pairs now (most of them are both colours, a few are a colour with a Cocoberry with one coloured parent mate, and just a few are both cocoberries).

I can't really say that I am seeing a general improvement in number of confetti offspring as I move down the generations. Their results are still very random.

I've been keeping weekly bar chart figures for about the last ten weeks, about 8 weeks ago I had a stunning week - 18 boxes, 10 of which were confettis, and of the 10, 8 were colours. It was such a change in normal figures that I wondered if they had tweaked the possibility of getting the fur to pass. But then it was back to normal the week after, so guess it was just random. This weeks figures are 19 genesis boxes and 4 confettis.

I'm not getting the sizes I was lucky enough to get in the early months - but maybe I just used up my luck early on - and I did get another mega about 3 months ago. But I can hardly complain they have made a mega Orangeberry, Blueberry, two Appleberries and four Cocoberries.

I've opened some more boxes recently so guess I'm continuing with them.

My luck ran out too Eleanor. It's been a fun year but my dreams of a glorious Confetti Army have almost died. I began with 4 kitties. Color wise breeding this year has produced 4 (3 female, 1 male) Blueberry Confetti. And 21 (10 female, 11 male) Cocoberry Confetti. They also produced 12 non-gen furs (2 Australian Lilac Marble, 10 Chateau Cat Cocoa + White No. 2) all male. The rest of the boxes produced were all genius furs. But I've not kept a total box count going. Maybe one night when I'm bored I'll add them up. Overall I've been tempted to be disappointed by the results. But considering some have had far less luck I don't let myself be. I do wish they were a little less challenging though. It's hard to keep at something for so long with very little result. Kitties are meant to be fun not frustrating. =)

I still like them but I admit to be a littlebit of a nutcase.
The more stubborn the cat the more stubborn I get
And to me it does not matter which cats I feed as long as I do not cross the amount of cats I want to breed.
Actually I am kinda happy; last years starters turned out to both hide the glitter shade.
So my Cocoberries actually have a shade and they have some decent other traits as well.
Recently I've obtained my second pair of Confetti Starters after breeding loads of OS-ers with eachother.
Sadly my new Starters both have the same Genesis Eyes why I wait till I can obtain an other.
I prefer to breed these Starter with eachother in first instance.
I have up to five pairs running to stand a chance to have at least a Cocoberry every so often.
Currently I have many boxes and a Confetti break until I have bought a Confetti with other genesis eyes.

I keep thinking I should give up on them. But I can't seem to give up hope that they will some day pop out some color and make me feel like I've won the lottery. =P

I have a friend show said she got 6 confs out of her pair of confs. She is didn't want to post on the forum. But in the interest in being fair to the confetti cats, I am throwing her stats out there. There are always outliers in any random grouping.

I am that friend. I did not want to share and potentially upset anyone who feels unlucky but Kayla convinced me I should share this information with the community.

Fetti breeding is incredibly challenging. We all know this. Cats will always be cats and sometimes their little AI's just say, "No!" I've had fettis that absolutely refuse to give their fetti fur, hidden or shown, and then I've had others that are magnificent, including this one.

Starter male produced 14 boxes. To clarify, there were actually 3 different moms to his kittens. 2 were BlueBerry full sisters, at least one hiding more recessive than Orange. Mating a BlueBerry daughter to him pulled their shared hidden PlumBerry.

Out of his 14 boxes; 2 Gen furs, 6 normal furs more recessive than Gen, 2 CocoaBerries, 3 BlueBerries, 1 PlumBerry; for a total of 6 fetti furs. He gave 5 fetti girls and 1 fetti boy and I traded a Blue h. Plum girl to Kayla.

These kitties are amazing, IMHO, and I do not think a few stubborn cats should drive the fetti market down so, or the wish to breed them. Yes, if you are breeding purely for profit, maybe fettis aren't the right cats for you. My starter above hid Butterscotch whiskers which was quite lovely to see and relatively "new" at the time, but maybe you won't get a new gene from them. I breed fettis for the love of breeding such a challenging kitty and the oohs and ahhs when they decide to give me exactly what I want. I hope you all will too.

Yay! Thanks for posting Alassariah!

I think will people be happy to hear about how good this cat did (of course, they may try to steal the offspring! in case the procreation gene gets passed on, lol)
