Pricing of kitties after the mother of all updates

Hi

If you take some time to think all over, you can really say this is a fundamental update that will change all our breeding.

As for box/live pricing:
I think box prices will be up and live kitty prices will be down. Age is the most important thing on a kitty now.

What do you think?

Hi Shadow,

Well, not necessarily : buying a box, unpacking it and having to wait 1 week for the kitten to start
gaining love is still a waste of time.

I rarely keep breeding cats up to their 120th day now, to put traits into some kitties is easier when you backbreed
or breed the siblings together, but I could still buy a cat which I am interested in if it were 90 days old (so of course
I would not pay the same as if it were 14 days old and at 100% love lol) because I know it still has the ability
to produce 4 to 6 boxes.

So I don't really think that should really have an impact on prices.

Hmm well I thought about a 9T box I set for 1k before the update... In my opinion that box is worth a lot more now with the gender on. You are right that they are even a bit more worth when 14 and at 100% love.

Imagine that 9T box out for 1k before the update. Now Ill price it 1500L because of the gender on it, let it raise a bit when birthed till 14 days old... At age 60 the kitty should cost 1k, dropping further when coming an elderly cat, about 500L for a 100 day old or so...

On the other hand I expect new traits and high traited recessive furs coming sooner than in the past. Now its possible to buy that high traited boxed Balinese to go with your live one to make a nice breeding pair. Before the update not many would have bought a 10.000 linden box without knowing the gender, 50% risk you get the wrong gender!

In any way people will be searching for boxes more specifically and are willing to pay for the right gender.... Or am I wrong with this?

I think we really need to discuss this because the update will change more than we think. Although Im happy with the update nevertheless.

My opinion .. it won't matter to matter to the prices of boxes, cats, OR market stalls.

Yes, it'll make breeding a bit easier. But it won't upset the apple cart.

The main thing you'll see, and this is a Big Win .. is increased customer satisfaction with the product because they've eliminated the programmed period awaiting disappointment. Now, you'll be immediately disappointed that the box was Male when you wanted Female, saving you some coin but mainly eliminating the waiting-for-disappointment phase.

So, now, we should finally see an end to the "All I get is (Fe)Males!" complaints.

True, but what about that boxed Bali set for 5k, shouldn't those be more expensive now??

And what about 100 day old kitties with special traits? Are they still worth the same as 20 day old kitties?

Furthermore, what about the speed in which new traits are coming out? Breeding will go twice as fast now!

This update takes all the fun or need out for opening boxes and live cats all together sure we all save money but no one makes any money off kats or breedables in sl at all its more for fun and that is gone, Now its a collectors and pro breeders market. No room for lil guys just haven fun no use for wheels and gatchas when all it is now is traits why keep low traited cats or buy extra boxes now just get the 2 u need that match no more fun storys and swaping or good deals on cats that opened and not the gender needed live cat market is now used cars. and cat boxes become more of a collectable card. most my sales and purcheses come from live cats live cats = prim not only do pplz with live cats for sale now face lowing prices but so do sims that rent space. How many times have you opened more than 1 box and kept cuz to good to toss or sold for good deal to some one cuz u cant use it? how often do pplz run out to buy buy sell sell just to get the proper mate? now i dont ever need open to many boxes nore do I have immedite needs for opposite sex when its in plane view. i nolonger need 150 prim store when box is 2 and cat is 12 i can skip the store and laggy sim and just shop mp for cats. not only are small lil venders of cats effected but so will sim owners that rent to cat breeders. the fun waz in the kaos and in koas came sales of lower traited older cats needed for gender not traits. pedigree givers were so cool allwoing you to see the cat ina box b4 it waz born now they almost redundant they only good to see grand parents. sales of cute pedigree givers will also be effected. All other changes were more than amazing other than this box situation. box prices will nither go up or down theyll just sit around now never being opened till its time to breed. so wa i save money on boxes food and rent this breedable game is not about money its about fun! and this is gone out the window.
