Tonkinese - Blue Point Recessiveness
This is the pedigree of the new Tonkinese - Blue Point fur. So it's either dominant to Blue Mink or Blue Marble. Smile

RE: Tonkinese - Blue Point Recessiveness
Hi everyone,
haven't seen any more charts on this one in a while. From Genesis to Blue Marble is a pretty wide spread. Does anyone out there have more charts to add to narrow it down?

RE: Tonkinese - Blue Point Recessiveness
I have difficult time pulling this new fur second time. Here is another maybe can narrow down a little bit.

It seems like recessive to Aussie Snow as my Balinese cream only hide Aussie Snow. Or it may be from the hidden Blue Marble or Blue Mink that hidden in this new Tonkinese Blue Point which brought out the Aussie Snow. Hope soon I can find out more and post new updates Smile

RE: Tonkinese - Blue Point Recessiveness
Thank you Inia!

On the thread
https://kittycats.ws/forum/showthread.php?tid=25283
it's been proven Australian Mist Snow is placed between Snowshow Cream and Foxie Salt and Pepper Mask

So your Balinese has to be hiding the Australian Mist Snow because your mom the Tonki has to be hiding Blue Marble or more recessive.

I am looking forward to your finding out what Danah's hid is. If the hid is the Tonki then that is definite proof it is recessive to Australian Mist Snow. Here's hoping the hid is not the grandad's Blue Marble.

RE: Tonkinese - Blue Point Recessiveness
So based on your pedigrees posted here that put Blue Point as between Aby Dark Choc and Blue Mink, possibly Aussie Blue Marble. So just needs to be tested against that and Natural Mink to be placed. Great work Inia Smile

RE: Tonkinese - Blue Point Recessiveness
I love that we can see the evolution of your Tonki-Blue Point line, Inia

So this is a recap (better than a bump, I think, lol, and maybe helpful for newer folks learning to follow the narrowing of dominance of a new trait)

First pedigree: 5-11-16
Calpe, Mom the Starter, has genesis bandit shown
Aurick, Dad, has Australian Blue Mist shown, Tonki Blue Mink or more recessive hid
Baby has the new fur Tonki Blue Point shown proving Calpe has Tonki Blue Point shown

Baby gets named New Fur: Tonkinese

2nd pedigree: 6-10-16
Baby is now the mom New Fur: Tonkinese with Tonki Blue Point shown
Chas, dad, has Bali Cream shown
2nd Baby, Danah, has Australian Mist Snow shown
Will come back to 2nd baby in just a bit

3rd pedigree in set of 3: 7-2-16
3 pedigrees shown here. Looking at top pedigree, but the grandparents
we are back to Calpe who is grandmother here who we know has Tonki Blue Point hid
Beaton, grandad, has Chocolate Tortie shown
They produced the mom, Constanza, has Aby Dark Chocolate shown
Since we know Calpe's hid already, the Aby Dark Chocolate has to be Beaton's hid.
Therefore, Constantza has to be hiding Calpe's hid Tonki Blue Point because the genesis fur was lost.
This proves Tonki Blue Point is recessive to Aby Dark Chocolate! Yay!

Now let's look at the other side grandparents
Grandmom is New Fur: Tonki who remember was in the first pedigree as Calpe's child and is showing the Tonki Blue Point
Grandad Athelward has Aby Dark Choco showing
Their baby, Claudio, has Tonki Blue Mink showing. This proves that New Fur: Tonki did not get her father's shown Australian Blue Mist from that very first pedigree but did get the father's hid of Tonki Blue Mink or more recessive. Athelward also has Tonki Blue Mink or more recessive hid

So Claudio proves Tonki Blue Point has to be dominant to Tonki Blue Mink
Therefore the grandparents of Constanza and Claudio prove that so far Tonki Blue Point is between Aby Dark Choco and Tonki Blue Mink.

Constanza and Claudio have a baby with Tonki Blue Point shown
This is the second proof (confirmation) that Tonki Blue Point is recessive to Aby Dark Choco and dominant to Tonki Blue Mink

4th pedigree in set of 3: 7-2-16
Middle pedigree
Calpe is back in action
Calpe with her Tonki Blue Point hid is matched with Cadwallon ABy Dark Choco shown
Their daughter has Dark Aby Choco shown which as we now know is dom to Tonki Blue Point. Therefore the daughter's hid is Tonki Blue Point. Another confirmation of recessive to Aby Dark Choco

bottom pedigree in set of 3 on 7/2/16
This is the same pedigree as the very first one we talked about on 5-11-16. you can see the age of Calpe and Aurick is the same. The baby becomes New Fur:Tonki

So yay! We have the range of Aby Dark Choco to Tonki Blue Mink for Tonki Blue Point as Arwen pointed out. So if a Blue Marble shown or hid happens with the Blue Point, it will narrow as well as testing against Blue Mink.

RE: Tonkinese - Blue Point Recessiveness
Thanks Peaches. Previously it was confirmed recessive to Aby Dark Choco. NOw it is confirmed dominant to Australian Blue Marble.

That narrows it down to just one fur. It just needs to be tested against Tonkinese Natural Mink to be placed. Congratulations!
