Marketplace Support
OK. It's been years and we still cannot purchase food, milk, vitamins, etc., on the Marketplace.

It's time KittyCatS! got over their aversion to using the Marketplace and made their customer's lives easier.

RE: Marketplace Support
Yes well ... convenient for us but ... LL does take a 5% cut of every sale made on MP. I am okay with seeing that 5% instead rolled back into KC business expenses: tier fee on SIM, Customer Support, and R&D on cuter and cuter kitties.
On the other hand! If you're going to the Main Shop to buy an Energy5 -- the time it takes to teleport (and crash) and come back uses up too much of the benefit of the very short time (25 mins or less) that you're buying with an Energy5 ... makes some items less worth buying.

RE: Marketplace Support
It's possible that 5% service fee might make a different .. if you're referring to the lease payments on a villa in the South of France; but it certainly won't come close to affecting any of the costs you cited.

At their sales volume, they probably would tier-down to the lower service fees, so it probably won't be that high, anyway.

Increased sales would probably far overshadow the service fees.

Customer retention (that is, prevention of lost sales) would probably far overshadow the service fees.

No service fees apply to Cattery sales.

But, if they truly are running the company so badly that they're so strapped for cash that they cannot afford the 5% service fee (in which case, we should all be VERY afraid), they could avoid the fees by selling the supplies directly off the web site, or allowing the transfer of supplies to, and from, the Cattery via the Dock or a similar object.

RE: Marketplace Support
It's like paying with credit card, there is always service fee involved for the seller, however all companies implement credit card payments as it is convenient for customer. Same way MP works, fee for service, yet we all love fast and convenient shopping, with no rezz time involved, it is something KC must consider, unless they have some other reasons like upselling while in store as we walk around, could be XD all businesses have own selling strategies.

RE: Marketplace Support
I have two LMs, "food" and "dope" so i just tp there and it only takes me around 30 secs to rez and i'm back home with my items in less than one minute.
So i find mainstore shopping perfectly convenient, also MP can fail delivery and whatnot so personally i doubt i'd use it.
Other people may find it more convenient though, i know that some have issues TPing to mainstore, getting logged out etc so it'd be good to have this alternative for sure.

RE: Marketplace Support
Another consideration: responsible companies have backup systems, especially for mission critical operations.

If the costs are the excuse they have an alternative: roll their own.

If the reliability is the excuse they have an alternative: roll their own.

Customer have been asking for them to roll their own for a very long time when they ask for the ability to transfer supplies to and from the Cattery.

Maybe, someday, they'll get around to rolling their own.

In the interim, the ten minutes it would take to put food and milk up on the Marketplace is a fast, cheap, reliable (enough) solution.

RE: Marketplace Support
Selling via marketplace costs the merchant a percentage of their income while they already pay tiers for land to sell it via.
I'd avoid it as well to sell on MP for more than just that reason unless my customer base couldn't find me in world which in this case clearly isn't so.

I'd love a second food & supplements store though, on an other sim, because frequently the main store is very laggy especially with give aways and all.
Perhaps it makes sense KC grows to a second sim as the amount of customers grows.

RE: Marketplace Support
What about some kind of vendors we can put at our "in world" land where we breed, and buy the stuff from that? Or a Hud we could order food/boosters and it's delivered in world?

RE: Marketplace Support
I also use a landmark to tp directly to food, but for some unknown reason, I crash 7 times out of 10 when I tp away from the store.

I can only assume this problem is due to the lag on the sim, so a second and less laggy location to purchase food and vitamins would be a godsend for me.
