RE: rare traits
A rare trait is one you don't see very often.
Red Tabby is probably quite rare.
I point out that there is the misconception that rarity effects breeding. It does not. Red Tabby is also a good example of how rarity and recessiveness are not related. Red Tabby is just about as dominant as you can get)
While rarity has some effect upon price, it may not. I point, again, at Red Tabby.
Are new traits rare? At the moment, probably. But don't count on them staying rare. All people talk about are the new traits. Everyone wants one. And everyone will probably get one .. is it "rare" then?
What determines what is rare? WE DO. Nothing else does. We make it rare by not producing.
In the end, though, if you want a "rare" trait it's up to YOU to decide which you think fit the bill.
