Question What Advice would You Give to Someone New To KittyCats RIGHT AWAY!?
If you sat down with a Newbie to Our Adorable Loveable KittyCats, What would be the 1st bit of Advice or Information do you feel is a MUST know about?
What is the most crucial?
What do you feel they are most wrongly informed about?
What have you seen that just blew your mind away?
Maybe something that you feel that they might get most confused about?
How about something they should avoid? or something they should go for?
Or maybe you see Newbies ask about most in Group?

They are sitting there right in front of you holding that New Born Kitten in their Loving arms, What would you tell them?

RE: What Advice would You Give to Someone New To KittyCats RIGHT AWAY!?

Number one: Never 'open' a kitten box. Only click on it and follow the drop down unpack menu instructions.

Number two: a cat that isn't a permapet must have food.

Number three: if a cat doesn't have food and gets sick, it will not die.

Number four: milk is optional unless you want to increase the speed at which your kitties are ready to breed. If you can't afford milk, 30 minutes of cuddling per cat per day will have the same effect.

Number five: if you are going to buy kitties on the secondary market, SHOP AROUND. It's amazing the range of prices even on similar cats with desired traits.

Number six: the Kittycats community is huge, helpful, friendly and worth getting to know.

I agree with all, including 5, but would like to add a 5A -- IF you are going to go shopping the secondary markets, take a friend that's knowledgeable about cats with you so that you know for sure what you're getting is what you want.

Good answers all around.

I will add this. . .

Don't get into the KittyCatS scene thinking you will make money.

Few do.

Most end up stuck with a closet full of 500 cats.

But thats ok, its a side effect that comes with the territory.

You can always grind em' up for a cool rare tiger Wink

Do it for the sheer entertainment value involved.

Screwing around with genetics, trying to create different stuff.

Watching that box drop and wondering:

"WHERE THE HELL DID THAT BOO BOO TAIL COME FROM???"

Most of the community does it for the fun of it,

and they will welcome anybody aboard who shares

the nicotine like addiction that is KittyCatS!

And exercise caution when using the 'follow' command on a Mega.!

They will knock you on yer ass!

RE: What Advice would You Give to Someone New To KittyCats RIGHT AWAY!?
This is the NC i give to new kitty cat owners when they hit my shop:

1 rez box

2 on box, click box, then on box menu you need to click unpack ! ( never open a cat like you would a clothing box ! )

3 your kitten will need 15 mins to be born !

4 once your kitten is born click your kitten to bring up the menu. select animation menu then press set home. this is important here.

5 next on animation menu select set range this is how far you want your kitten to roam.

6 make sure you get kitten food from the Kittykats main store or your kitten will get sick and you will be very sad and might cry ! ( kitten Kibble its only 170 L a month to feed your pet thats like 80 cents ! )

7 If you pick your kitten up, holding or cuddling always use " drop " never detach ! this can lead to a lost or broken kitty cat which will result in sadness !

8 when you change clothes while cuddling, make sure you 'add', not 'wear'

9 Kittys love to be held, cuddled and petted !

Read Saga's "KittyCatS Basics" would be my advice! Helped me out so much when I first started.

Saga's KittyCatS Collection - https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B0_Wqb33nVpnZWYwNGViMGMtYWU4ZS00ZjAyLTk4OTctMzk2YzljODliMDhm&hl=en_US&pli=1#

Number seven: There is a manual and FAQ here on the website. (Very nice for people who like to examine something before plunging in.)

The two most important things are the first two on Thorn's list above.

And I would consider Saga's charts and how KittyCatS inheritance works to be intermediate rather than beginner topics. Some people don't breed their cat(s).
