RE: KittyCatS! Market Improvement Suggestions
First of all I do not think the Improvements are needed in way we consider them improvements. We all contribute in our way to make the growth of the Kc comunity and the breeding experience for all of us.
What happened recently was probably a faster spread of newer traits and thus the prices fell fast, but I do not think (personaly) that the makret was killed.
I stand by few principals:
a. I go to events that I feel Id like to be part or to have time for them, just because there's 200 auctions it does not force me as breeder to attend them
b. I price my cats based on my work I put in them, not much based on rarity of trait since I do have some dominant trait combos that were harder to make than any e breeze salty I was working on.
c. I buy cats based by what Id like to get and how much work Ill put into it, again basing it by what I will price my own result
d. if a kitty goes no sale I either keep it or place back in shop/cattery to try in few weeks, cat on no sale aint bad it just didnt find the right owner
e. I also shop locally, its my way of contributing to my market, after all we cant really say our shops dont sell cats since many of us dont go on daily walks and buy a box or two every day, so neither do others do same. Selling in shops takes time - key word advertisement
In end I cant really say the market itself needs improving, kittycats are one of the most successful breedables in Sl and its the people involved that need to work on things to keep the markets on their feet, but remember every work SL or Rl has its ups and downs, before you start anything, consider how can you handle the low times before you got yourself looking forward to good times, cus if you are sure you can handle 100 lives without a sale in 3 months, then you are ready to begin unboxing them all XD
Im also personally against any price changes of foods/vitamins/LE cats, kittycats were and are successful brand so far and the most stable one, pricing changes going up or down would not help anyone in long run.
P.S. this is my personal opinion and in no way does it reflect or directly speaks of anyone except my own ideas. If anyone feels called out by this, intention was not there, this is simply a share of thoughts

RE: KittyCatS! Market Improvement Suggestions
It seems to me that so far most people (not all) agree that there is need in terms of changing the menagerie behavior both from the end-user and KittyCatS! themselves.
To recap:
Marketplace owners need to do more to encourage menagerie behavior. Education and Info signs could help. In fact the Co-Op could make an educational site on their homepage and make a corresponding sign which leads to that site. Marketplace owners could then put it up at their sim for everyone to see (and read hopefully).
KittyCatS! could do several things:
- increase the value of the kitten when send to the menagerie somehow.
- make it easier to menagerie both online and inworld (mass menagerie).
- more items which only can be bought from menagerie dollars (like the tigers).
Is that a fair assumption so far?
Oh and I just thought of something else... what if the end-user could sell and buy kittens from each other with KD? I mean this would have to be optinal somehow cause not everyone uses the online cattery. Not sure if that is even possible but I sure would love it
Carpe Diem!

RE: KittyCatS! Market Improvement Suggestions
I intially was going to keep my thoughts to myself regarding the KittyCatS! markets, but I decided that because I'm a member of the community I should too share my thoughts.
The KittyCatS! community is a diverse universe with so many unique personalities and kitties alike. When I purchased my very first cat back in March of this year, I was just so excited to open him and watch him grow. His name was Specs, a genesis cat with no traits. I didn't really care what he looked like, because I just wanted a cat. Fast forward to today, I want the most unique cats. It's so easy to find the 'same cats' as there are probably hundreds, if not thousands of the same combinations in the various markets we have in our community.
For me it's not all about having the most sought after furs/traits, it's about having a cat that was bred with attention to detail. Anyone can breed a cat... You put a boy and a girl together and bam boom bam, you've got a KittyCat. It takes hard work, discipline and patience to breed something special. This may sound wrong, but how many of you are breeding something special? I personally feel as though one of the reasons why the market feels dry is because there are many of the same cats out there.
When I first started breeding I didn't care, nor was I educated enough to know what was in the pedigrees of those cats. I just wanted to breed, because I thought it was fun and easy to do. Boy was I wrong on so many levels. You have to study the charts, ask around, find cats that have traits/furs that you'd ideally like to have in one cat... I mean this takes a whole lot of patience and while sometimes the results can be frustrating, it's SO worth it when you get the cat of your 'dreams.'
One of the ways that we can all help ourselves is by breeding those unique cats. Lots of us already do that. If you attend auctions or just have a walk around, you will see the wonderful works of art that were created by US, the KittyCatS! community.
On a side note... I do believe that new Menagerie incentives would be great!
I wish you all the very best of luck and thank you for educating and accepting me into this beautiful community.

I would like to see their thoughts on these points. thanks

RE: KittyCatS! Market Improvement Suggestions
I would like to thank Unicorn, on their own initiative, and courage, to bring in public for discussion this topic. Few people have this courage, and leadership, to do this. And a few others, the courage to respond.
I want to make records here, my gratitude for your attempt to help the market. Wonderful Thing you do, you have attitudes, some just do not move that peace again, just resmugam. When you go, and support other islands with attitudes, and lead an auction, to another island. Anyway, I recognize you, and thy labor, and effort.
Someone wants to take credit for creating Coop, and never stepped foot on my island, or never bothered to get a translator so we can talk in different languages??. Well, know that the truth is, you do this job long before Coop be created, and with more commitment and dedication than anyone. I see you going in the other islands, and make partnerships and solve problems, and create peace. Thus, UKF has been created, and strengthened, and thus other rings were made.
This is the kind of partnership that I want. A real coop. A coop with attitudes.
My respect and recognition by the person that you are and for your work.
Congratulations!
Applause!
