I'm imaginin homemade stuffed animals ... loving it
The final seam has to be closed by some kind of hand-stitching because you can't actually do it on a sewing machine ... so that last seam after the stuffing is stuffed in ... tends to be some special stitch like a cross stitch or ... hm, what do they call it? whip stitch? anyway it's a quite visible row of hand-stitches.
i made some homemade stuffed animals long ago ...for little sister ... using scraps of whatever fabrics we had bits of ... for some reason it included a hideous puke-green vinyl fabric which served just fine to make Piglet. Eeyore had different-patterned legs, head, body, ears, tail (the tail attaches with a button and button-hole) , because Eeyore really was made out of scraps. The mane was made of yarn ? Impromptu homemade stuffed animals are also unlikely to be made with perfectly matching thread ... you just use the best thread color that you happen to have on hand.
These little guys can have facial features embroidered on ... buttons and ribbons , even sequins ... (maybe this depends on how old the maker is ... a kid makes a pretty fanciful stuffed animal.)
If it's big and has a zipper or just a folded opening, it can double as a pajama-bag.
