It is one messed up crazy drama which I am glad to no longer be a part of, since being banned from using the profilers for saying I had every right to use both and what I want in my own store. THAT does not need to be explained to any healthy minded person by any of us... yet many of us have and with what result? He just keeps on doing it because that is all bullies know how to do. And just for balance... how many times have you heard bad things of Torgon? I, myself, have only heard bad things once... and THAT was from Rene trying to smear him because he is like a baby who cannot deal with a competitor, whilst ironically making us all compete with ourselves and forcing us all to state prices when some of us may not have wished to for whatever the reason. It is just another example of how it has to be his way and the joke quite frankly of how you have paid for a product, and it's not cheap, only to have a nightmare forced onto you. I cannot with all conscience EVER recommend this for anyone... why would I? Especially when they can use Torgon's system... which way less to buy and far superior in experience

No he didn't unban everyone, Callie had to intervene on my behalf to get my ban lifted. My crime? Refusing to buy the profiler in Oct 2015 then borrowing Fabaos group ones in Spring 2016. But I also banned Rene from my store, he was already muted in Oct 2015 after he was abusive to me at an auction because at that time I had no stores and was selling only at auctions so didn't want to buy his product. He has made uncalled for comments about me on the forums also, in fact in one post he stated the reasons you are not allowed to Mute or Ban him was because I had.
I actually wasn't bothered if he lifted my ban or not since I was only using his profilers at auction and until Torgons was released I simply used an alt to load it after that I rezzed a Torgons instead, the only reason I even contacted Callie was to show Rene was once again lying to everyone.

Arwen, I can remember this happening to you and it was just highly unreasonable, especially the lies he tried to perpetuate about the situation

I'm very sorry to hear this happened to either of you, and also others, it just makes me very meh about it all. Really this man should be paying us a fortune for the feedback, honesty or good business advice we keep trying to give... in RL people pay a fortune for that and to get a grip on why their business is failing haha

I've used both sets of profilers since they were created.

Rene contacted me last night.

Said I had to choose. His (brand shiny new) T.O.S. said I could only use his profiler if no other was used.

There followed a rather protracted discussion (I knew where I was going, but why not?) in which poor Rene explained how he was a victim of this evil campaign against him led by that she devil Callie Cline (I paraphrase but you get the drift).

I told him I choose not to be bullied.

I removed all 339 of his profilers that I was using. I will use Torgon's profiler alone.

Interesting. His web site states it shows 11028 cats from 179 breeders on 117 sims but when I total them up I only get 9020 cats from 179 owners on 117 regions. I wonder where he's getting those other 2008 cats from?

For comparison, Torgon's site shows 8038 cats from 229 owners on 71 regions.

So, Torgon's is being actively used by many more owners (28% more), for a bit fewer cats (11% fewer) on quite a bit fewer regions (40% fewer).

Add me to the list of not using Rene's profilers anymore.

He contacted me today and told me that i am violating his tos (which is brand new, and nothing I signed up for)
He didn't want me to support people that copy his product. Well, I tried to explain that it was my right to choose to use both, but it all came down to an ultimatum that if i keep using the other, I will no longer be supported by his.

Of course I don't like ultimatums, who does!? Politely I told him I will continue to use the other. Then he told me I can remove all his profilers because they will be useless.
I asked for money back for the the profiler I cant use anymore, but he refused.

End of story, you will find my cats for sale at TORGON'S from now

I have to say, Rene sure is doing a bang-up job of destroying his business. He's plainly working his way down the list, pissing off and pushing away his best/largest customers. I imagine once his market has sufficiently shrunk, he'll stop pushing his customers away simply because, at only one or two cats per owner, it just won't be work the effort to piss them off.

Giving your customers ultimatums and your product isn’t even up to date? That’s extremely laughable to me. Look at his profilers - they still ring up (example) Toyger Silver as “New/Unknown.” Umm... everybody who actively breeds these cats knows that Toyger Silver wasn’t discovered yesterday. You are NOT going to make demands on me, when you can’t be arsed to keep your product up to date.

I’m still using both profilers because he hasn’t contacted and harassed me. But let me tell you this... if and when he does contact me, I will give him a nice earful. I’m so tired of people coming up to us in this community and acting like bullies. Most of us here, I think all of us here actually purchased this product even before there was a web-market to use. There were no TOS that we knew of.

Oh, I'm sure he sees it as protecting his hard work.

But, I'm with the earlier comment. Not only is he working against his own interests, but he's diverting time to it which would be better spent updating for the latest rush of new trait values.

I started out this thread miffed and upset, but I must say I am entertained now. Rene has a great product, if he had just treated people with common courtesy there wouldn't have been a need for another profiler. His destroying his own business is baffling to me.
