What I like about KittyCats

I love it all. I love the new furs! I'm so over the moon about the Balis! They're like my rl lynx baby and I want 20 of my rl cats but I'd get in trouble not just for hording but cloning! So KittyCats lets me be a hoarder in an appropriate manner!

I remember when the new animations first started, like the laying on their backs, I about died. What I really love is that KittyCats instead of like, moving on and making new products and abandoning the kitties, they are enhancing the kitties with each new update. I don't see that happening in other breedables much. And really, all of those animations made me fall in love with the kitties in the first place. Like, they're super adorable, anyone can see that right away. But the fact that they would come running to you just filled me with such glee.

Even when I'm having a bad day, the kitties will come over and bump me and say "I love you, Draco!" and I can't help but smile. I also really love how there are so many traits and ways that you can really tailor your kitty to look just how you want it to. I love seeing what other people make with their kitties, too.

Sometimes I just kind of run out of things to say to people in SL. Theo and I used to do the indie DJ thing and stuff would get dramatic, sometimes I think for lack of things for people to talk about. The kitties really give us a constant stream of things to chat about and compare notes on. I think they've made me a lot more social than I've ever really been in SL.

So really, i love them. I never imagined myself owning a sim in SL. Never imagined spending so much money in a virtual world. Frankly, I think Second Life should give you guys a commission!

Oh! and I love the cattery. I put some kitties in there so I can check on them from work, like if they're due while I'm going to be out. When I went out of town, I could visit them on my phone, which was fun, too.

Okay, now I'm in long-winded Theo territory, but yes, I love them muchly! And my asking for furs and ears and stuff is just because I'm so excited about things and I can't help but be obsessed with wanting more, MORE, MOOOORE!

I like pretty much everything about the KittyCats! This could be a really long list so I'll just keep it to the first 3 things that come to mind:

1) The sleeping on their backs animation. When I saw that in an update I knew I was in trouble... there was no backing out after that was included. They are just so adorable - all the animations are so cute.

2) The community. The auctioneers, breeders, and collectors are for the most part fun, positive, and great to share a common interest with. I especially appreciate how helpful people are and willing to share tips and tricks for breeding. I've heard nightmare stories about other breeding groups where people were more interested in making money than in breeding neat combinations.

3) KittyCats support. I've lost cats to SL wonkiness, or have had issues with cats not being able to update and the support has been phenomenal. I've had issues resolved in as short of a time as 20 minutes - and every time the person who helps me is kind and friendly.

And of course ... tigers!

I'm with Misa about the tigers.... GNAH! Just when I thought I couldn't love anything more.

The kitties give me something to look forward to...not just because of boxes, but because of updates, new traits, and KC does an AMAZING job of promoting the brand through SL-wide events. It means a LOT to me to see KC doing their part to keep new people coming into our breedable community.

Something else that matters so much to me and D? The KC brand and its staff do not tolerate bigotry or homophobia. This community is a safe space for so many who are marginalized or excluded elsewhere. That makes me happy.

Plus, maybe something that KC gets right more than anything else: RFL. Charity in general. KC gives back to the community in a big way. I'm proud to be part of that.

I just love my kitties.They're awesome companions. I love the furs, and the eyes and the breeding side, but above all, the pets. I love that they come up t oyou and tell you things that make you giggle or go "awwww" and never say a nasty or rude or even risque thing. I love it when they play with butterflies. I love the bear hug. i love to play with them and how they like it when there's people around. I love how the little ones run at atomic speed, and how many still run to me even in their older ages when I ask to cuddle them. And that they never ever die.

Let me start my raving about KittyCats by say thank you to the creators. You do an amazing job. It's about time people praised the efforts you all put into your creation. I see so many people complain or want more or think that you could have done something differently. Well this was your baby and I think the complainers or the want want wanter's should take a step back and enjoy what they are given. I for one am always thankful to the staff for their quickness in answering questions and the returning of a KittyCat when SL has issues and eats them. I've never met people so willing to give of their time when they have their a lot they already take care of.

I haven't been breeding very long and I learn something new everyday. I don't always breed them right to get what I want but I do what I do because it's fun for me. I was completely bored to death with SL and almost left at one point but I found the social network and then the friendships I'm making make it worthwhile for me to keep coming back. There are now sims that actually want to help the lovers of Kittycats. There are classes that are forming, mentoring...the list goes on. You not only created a KittyCat's you created an ever increasing social network of people that share the love of your creation.

What I actually love most everything about them? I especially love that they talk to you. The interaction feature is adorable! Who DOESN'T LOVE the movement of the Kitty that rolls back on the side and then moves its head at looks at you so adoringly? They'd be crazy NOT to.

Yes sure I'd love to see more, however, I know that that there are always more coming from the creators. I will be patient and thankful and more then likely squeal with delight about anything new that comes out. Have the creators actually been out there when they release something new...When you released the glasses you should have heard... it its like a thousand people jumping up and down, squealing in delight and just happy to see what it is. It's amazing lol...seriously!

So, when you see people being negative know that you have done more then just create KittyCats, you've given us all friendships that would never have been formed without this common interest.

Beyond all the obvious things about them being a really well made product (that drives me nuts with the unpredictable refusal to breed how I want them to.) I like the random moments. Especially when they do something unexpected - especially especially when breeding some nice surprise.

I have been yaddering a lot of my 1st smokey, but he is still the most exceptional one in this regard, when he is awake he seems to "greet" (or bully) the new borns. Says his sentences in the funniest contexts. IDK, he seems a tad more alive than he should.

The accessoiry I like best is the scratch tree, it lets them be cats. It is a matter of personal flavour, but I don't really like to wear collars even (maybe more tiffany like ones would make me change my mind). I'd love to see more things they interact with.

And I love the cattery, though I cannot watch the whole bunch of them in world, I can check on them via my phone out in the real world. Plus the saved prims/money make it a lil more convenient just to breed experimentally (in case they comply for a change) not for sellable boxes.

I wouldn't be me if I did not add why I do not like: and this is the extreme commercial side of the whole cat business. The rat race for new traits and the insanity accompanying a new recessive trait - just to trash can the lot when a more recessive trait shows up (and then blame "the market" ).

Funny you create a thread just at this moment Theo. I was just this moment thinking of creating one about you and Draco, but maybe i'll just post here.
It was going to be something like "Lets hear it for the Nachts"

Reason : as far as i know you were the first to create a weekly trait-talk group about a year ago to generously share with everyone who wanted to know, your knowledge about breeding and it helped myself and others no end to get the general processes to finally kick in. Also for publishing what you knew of the dominance orders.
Not forgetting Chelle Zimmer who kindly joined in with her knowledge as well. I do remember being rather shocked at a few of things i heard ; some people not appreciating you doing this, preferring the info to remain as restricted as possible.

I love the care and work the staff put into the KittyCatS from updates to make our lives easier, the cats more interactive, the attention to detail from everything to poses, clothing, furs, eyes, traits.
I love that the staff are active members of the community from events, group chat and even the forums.
I love how friendly and timely the staff are when ever I have even the oddest or stupidest issue. They never make me feel badly but work hard to help me. I love how they listen to our concerns and worries and when possible give us what we have asked for.
Most of all I love the community everyone is always so friendly and willing to help each other out, which in my opinion trickles down from how wonderful the staff are.
