Pricing of kitties after the mother of all updates

RE: Pricing of kitties after the mother of all updates
I find it really difficult to know how to price kitties full stop; there seem to be various methods but hey, part of the fun in all this is learning right?

I have to be honest, this update has really upped the fun factor too. I agree with all Sara's points above Smile

RE: Pricing of kitties after the mother of all updates
As an SL gypsy living practically out of a caravan, hoping from skybox to skybox, the 2D cats are wonderful. For me it means that I can keep some cats out in 2D mode, maybe one or so with low prim off, and not have to have as many stashed away in the cattery just to stay under my prim limit.

Do they mate and move in this mode? I haven't tried it.

They don't move but I think I have read that they can breed in 2D mode but I'm not 100% sure as I haven't had any in 2D when they gave me a box...

Yes, they still breed in 2D mode or any low prim mode. :-)

RE: Pricing of kitties after the mother of all updates
I am very pleased with the update. As a small breeder, it was very frustrating to open 7 boxes and find them all the same gender, as I can't always afford to feed that many cats and selling them can be time-consuming (and yes, I would often either menagerie them or offer them on kittycats swappers and givers). The 2D live cat option will be valuable at my stall if I want to sell live cats instead of just boxes. I love my full-prim kitties at home, and like to by them collars and glasses :-), so I use both options. As a consumer, I will be more likely to buy a box with gender displayed than a box without it, but I will still buy live cats, especially because I am a sucker for a cute face :-) So, overall, I dont' see how update has hurt the market. And also, would like to point out, how much i enjoy just strolling the aisles at a secondary market just to marvel at what other people have done with their kitties and see the displays people set up (especially at holidays!), so I will still be going there as much as before. I know not everyone has the same philosophy about this game that I do, but i think there is enough in KittyCats to keep a wide variety of us happy :-)

RE: Pricing of kitties after the mother of all updates
I remember when we were discussing gender boxes a long time ago I wasn't really sure I wanted it but now that we have it, I'm really glad! Like a lot of people have said, it's great for project breeding ..and Wyndy, as a large breeder it's no less frustrating to open 8 boxes and get 7 of one gender and 1 of the other LOL I still have to feed all those, too Wink Wink

One thing I'm really appreciating most about it is that I can limit my number of lives in shops (thinking of even going box-only in the market shops). This is a bit less food to buy, fewer servers to worry about (I go through A LOT of food and have a lot of food servers Tongue ) I'd rather feed my productive cats than lose money feeding a cat that sits in the store for 90 days or more; now I can just keep sale cats in the gender-box and not have to worry about the food expense!

Anyway, someone said it's a "happy medium" since you can choose not to use the options at all, and I think that's a key truth to the whole thing. It's nice to have the option to turn off gender or 2d or whatever feature it is you're concerned about. Smile

I agree but OMG I'm a very impatient person thenBlush, if a live cat stays in my store for 2 or 3 weeks and not sold, I lose hope and menagerie it. I'm more patient with boxes of course but still wouldn't be able to wait for 90 days!Big Grin
