RE: KittyCatS! Shades :)
Time to jump in again and state that Shade is problematic. It depends, critically, upon the user, their hardware, software, software settings, the Second Life environment, and other objects nearby in that environment. You can change what you see; and there is no guarantee what you see is even close to what someone else might see.

Yes Smile

Shades appearance change on different fur, on different settings, sure Smile

These pictures have the purpose of representing the different aspect and the differents effects on the same fur, with the same time environment and WL settings, and the same background.

Is it possible to do this again, but with advanced lighting on?
The resulting images will be very different from these.

RE: KittyCatS! Shades :)
It really looks as though Flair shows off their features most clearly. Porcelain seems good, too. What have breeders preferred?

RE: KittyCatS! Shades :)
It's a matter of preference and highly dependent on your Windlight settings. Natural is clean. Natural would be the hands down favorite if people didn't lose a trait point for it in the 9T trait race.
My opinions (using CalWindlight for photos):
Flair has a slight turquoise tint and subtle light. I prefer it for bringing out the feature on black cats and dark cats. Not recommended for warm-toned furs. But then, you may not even notice depending on your lighting. Or you may not notice unless you put a natural snowshoe red right next to a flair one. That's why I say natural is clean.
Porcelain is both blue and shiny. It's meant to mimic .. porcelain statues. Again, not really recommended for warm-toned furs.
Blush is soft and, I think, ever so slightly warm. Really really good on bengal coppers.
Many people hate illume, but others swear by it on red and warm-toned furs for lighting them up.
Glitter, twinkle, flash.. varying degrees of lighting and/or shiny.

RE: KittyCatS! Shades :)
I always have a tough time taking photos when the kitties have a shiny or bright shade. Natural seems to be the best, at times I can work with twinkle or flash but like many said it all depends on the windlight and if I can actually get rid of the extra glow.

RE: KittyCatS! Shades :)
With the bright shades, I find them useful for night shots, especially if the kitty is white for a ghost kitty like in a graveyard or haunted house.

Environment Sunrise: it really looks pinky.

Environment Sunset: a warmer or brownish black tone.
