RE: Perma petting
If you buy 20-packs of food, you get a bit of discount, getting the price per food bowl down to 150L. A cat eating pet-food eats HALF such a bowl per month, which means it eats for 75L/month. (80L/month with no 20-pack-discount, but I count with the prices I figure most pay here)
A perma-pet potion costs 1800L... So, 75 to 1800 gives 24 months...
So - Your cat can eat pet food for exactly TWO YEARS before it pays off to buy a perma-pet potion.
Then the math becomes slightly better when the cat turns 120 days (4 months) old - because then you can buy a cheaper perma-pet potion. 1200L, I believe it is? Ok, so once you fed your cat for 4 months, it only costs another 16 months worth of pet food to perma-pet it. This is still a grand total cost of 1 year & 8 months worth of feeding for a pet-cat.
So yeah, I simply feed my pet cats pet food... ;-) If I end up keeping them for more than 1 year and 8 months, KittyCatS earn a wee bit of extra on that deal - but that's ok by me. I must admit my favorite cats change over time. The cat I loved the VERY most a year ago is not the same that is my favorite today - and I just can not keep ALL of them.
