I don't think you will miss out on a special kitty
If they celebrate it as the past birthdays there may be a kitty in the Main Store for a while and perhaps one to hunt for.
Past times we could get a female via the store and hunt for the male.
This was longer available than a day or a week even so I think everyone gets a chance, should they come with a birthday collection, to get their kitty/ kitties.
