This is one of the reasons that people buy the new collection cats: to breed them and discover the hidden traits. The collections are starter cats with genesis traits as genetic "showns", but what is shown on the collection cats are "costume". This past December, the Nostalgia Siamese were drawn showing the Boardwalk blue eyes (and maybe some of the others, I'm not sure, but I know the Siamese had them). The costume is not breedable, but often do contain clues as to the new buried traits that had been loaded into the KittyCats database. I fully expected someone to find the Boardwalk Blues - as a genetic breedable trait - as soon as I saw the Nostalgic Siamese costume cats. But it was not guaranteed. They had to be found as a breedable trait on a kitten and that took some weeks from the first appearance of the winter starters.
Does that explanation make sense? I know I'm throwing around the terms "costume" "shown", "hidden", "genetic/ breedable" pretty freely here.
To be honest...yeah I'm still confused LOL. That's alright though cos I'm never gonna figure this stuff out.
