Because I can imagine we don't miss our cats instantly as we assume they are in the cattery to look at them a week later what the cat is they have birthed:-)
But this sounds like a very solid solution!
I can imagine an IM/ Mail or preferable both can be received from cats which are not fully processed to menagerie just so people get a heads up for example with a link to the finalization page.
And this might make it less needed to set the time frame too tight.
Hmm,.. A Menagerie and a Finalize button in the cat which leads to such page might be something, just brainstorming on this
While I agree that it would be nice to be able to back up a 'mistake', It seriously makes me wonder if people even read prompts before clicking them ... the first prompt says right on it, "Once sent, your KittyCat cannot return!!". As if that's not enough, once you click 'send in' ... you get another prompt that once more reminds you it's a permanent action and asks if you're really sure.
I get it can still happen by accident, and i truly despise where the menagerie button is right now, because I've clicked it myself several times now. But this should be a very rare occurrence that it's done all the way thru the verification by mistake. I can see the potential for retrieving one, but since it *should* be rare that it's done by mistake, it's my opinion that forcing a double-verification both in-world and on the website is a bit much.
