We all have different approaches to cats & breedables - but please do remember that other people's approach might differ to yours. Your use of "no one" irks me I must admit - just as when people claim "everyone thinks like me" or "no one else does that either".
Yes, there are people who live of breedables - market-owners, auctioneers and major breeders - and people who earn millions of lindens on them, and many others who at least makes the food cost + a lil' extra now and then. -For most of these people, KittyCatS are BOTH fun and hard business - and my guess is that most won't find that the fun is now gone due to this update, as you claim. On the contrary.
However, I won't claim that "everyone" or "no one" thinks anything. I will, however, claim that I think this update pleases most people very much - and I sure know it pleases me!
We have been begging for gender on boxes for over a year now - look back in the forum if you like - and now it's finally here. It is a grand day for KittyCatS <3
