It shows up eventually .. probably following the next time the cat speaks to the mothership .. which is probably related to when they eat. I'm sure someone knows the precise cycle.
Note that, if they're having problems and have suspended updates, it may take a bit longer to show up while they sort things out.
So, if you don't see "Update Me" over your live cat, wait a few hours, or a day, and it should appear.
