How to name a cat?

ok, as i wrote in my introduction this is my first cat. i could give the box a name, but when the cat came out it was not named. when i click on info i see the following:

so it looks like the name is Panterra which is not what i set in the box. I set the name Hope. and i addition what does the symbols mean? day is the age, this is clear. the heart seems to be breeding, since i turned that off it shows off. the smiley could be happyness, but what does the other symbols mean? got nothing with basic instructions and explanations.
