RE: Suggestion for collection kitties
Sometimes, when I see "collection" my mind warps and I envision Mafia Kitties, toting blackjacks and saying "You's gonna pay, one way or da utter!"
Here's a suggestion. It'll take come programming and I'm not sure it's wise, but it's something to think about:
We have certain collectible cats who produce a special offspring when a male and female from the collection produce a box.
Theoretically, this leads to N pairs sold and N//2 special offspring.
What if we continued the process?
Keep a count of the generation. Parents 0, current special offspring 1, etc. And, when you pair a set from the same generation, a next-generation offspring results.
In theory, if everyone did everything perfectly, this leads to a limit of N total special offspring, down all generations. The limiting factor being the number of initial parents sold during the week they're available.
And, if the generation number is readily visible, it should make higher generations more valuable than each previous generation.
I expect there would be some breeders who would strive for higher generation numbers (there could even be a leaderboard promoting that), so this should lead to some support driving the prices higher.
