Heart New fur maybe?
One of my couples in the Cattery had the cutest little princess and I'm wondering which traits are new ones since I don't seem to see them in her family tree on either her mum or dad's side. Someone gave me a link to a Google doc that seems to be nothing but an unorganised mess that looks like it hasn't been updated in who knows how long. She seems to have both of her parents' visible traits (for all I know THEY could be new ones too) except for fur colour which doesn't seem to be anywhere in her family tree so perhaps it's a new fur? Would be nice if there was a way to find out what a Kitty's hidden trait and who they got it from. Even if her fur isnt new, doesn't matter. She's still a pretty girl.

Fur: Toyger - Blue
Eyes : Odyssey Crystal Rose
Shade: Flair
Tail: Wild
Ears: Dreamy Fold
Whiskers: Silver (Double Snappy)

RE: New fur maybe?
Hi BrookeLei,

Congratulations on your cute Toyger Blue.
The current charts are Here. There are tabs at the bottom to see Fur, Eyes, Tails, etc.
These charts are updated almost every day. We have a good team, headed up by Eleanor Alias and SongDog Woolley. You can see the ongoing updates in the Breeding section of this forum as well. There is also a Discoveries document which lists all the traits and when they were discovered - and in some cases, retired. Someone may have given you a link to the defunct Saga charts which have not been operational for some years now.

You'll have to help me out with something I'm confused about LOL. I was comparing the traits on the list to the traits some of my kitties have. I saw a "new eye" with the Boardwalk Blue color that was discovered back in January 14 of this year but I got my kitty back in December of last year and she has Boardwalk Blue eyes. Those were the eyes she had when I bought her 34 days ago so how can someone say they found a new eye color when mine originally had those color eyes from the beginning?

RE: New fur maybe?
New traits are released onto the grid by being hidden inside the newest collection cats. This is one of the reasons that people buy the new collection cats: to breed them and discover the hidden traits. The collections are starter cats with genesis traits as genetic "showns", but what is shown on the collection cats are "costume". This past December, the Nostalgia Siamese were drawn showing the Boardwalk blue eyes (and maybe some of the others, I'm not sure, but I know the Siamese had them). The costume is not breedable, but often do contain clues as to the new buried traits that had been loaded into the KittyCats database. I fully expected someone to find the Boardwalk Blues - as a genetic breedable trait - as soon as I saw the Nostalgic Siamese costume cats. But it was not guaranteed. They had to be found as a breedable trait on a kitten and that took some weeks from the first appearance of the winter starters.

Does that explanation make sense? I know I'm throwing around the terms "costume" "shown", "hidden", "genetic/ breedable" pretty freely here.

RE: New fur maybe?
I hadn't noticed them on the Siamese costume but I certainly did notice them on the UgLy sWeaTeR PartY! - BYOB - they really stand out against the ginger fur.

They were the one costume trait that I said we had to have as breedable.

Thanks Callie.

Heart Eleanor

To be honest...yeah I'm still confused LOL. That's alright though cos I'm never gonna figure this stuff out.
