RE: Profilers make playing KittyCats more interesting!
I want to thank to everyone who supported me during the last 2 days, who sent me IMs and also who wrote the truth in this forum. I can't understand the people who accuse me of bullying/harassing, because that is not true or taken out of context. What happened before, what did the other one do or say, etc. Or those people who accuse me have some other shady interests. As many people said here, I am mostly a nice guy. I won't comment on everything said here but two things:
@CptNessaTripin: there must be a misunderstanding, I never told anyone that you have to set prices or you will be removed. I sent to everyone the same, here is what I sent so people can decide if it was misunderstanding.
"hi, can you update your profiler and price all your cats? cats without prices will be removed from the web market soon. you can use either the 1-prim-version or the 2-prim-version. click "set price" in the menu."
That means cats that have no prices will just not show on the web market, that was all I was saying. It was just an information so people won't be surprised if their cats would not show on the web market.
@Theodore and Draco: I am sorry that you guys were not listed in the calendar, I myself don't breed so I don't know which auctioneer does what at what time. I don't go and search the auctioneers. On my website it was clearly mentioned that auctioneers need to register an account and contact me. If you tried to register, it must have failed. Sometimes the registration email lands in the spam folder and you don't see it. But the more important part is, you never contacted me so we could fix the issue and I could give you auctioneer rights.
So many people IMed me during the last 2 days, telling me how much they like the web market and asking me not to take it down. And I think they are right. Therefore I enabled the web market again, made the prices optional. I still think that it is best if everyone shows the price but this is what callie wants. The pictures are still on the website, and I need an answer from callie, if that's ok or not. Otherwise I have to find another solution. And let me say this again, I am doing this not for myself, I am doing it for the people who supported me the whole time and who deserve a good and free web market. I don't lose anything if it is gone, in fact I would have less work. But you the breeders lose a great tool. So it is back now, and I will keep updating it, if callie doesn't mind.

@ Rene Yes that was sent to me and I also told you that many people work during the week and can not set a price yet. Giving someone a time limit on setting a price is crazy.. Real Life comes first.. Not only my Private store but your also asking for a whole sim to set a price ?? I am glad you all worked stuff out... But please remember that some of us work irl and can not get to things as quick as other's may want.

RE: Profilers make playing KittyCats more interesting!
Rene, regarding pictures. Reality is, pictures are not really needed. On the profilers themselves, the cats are already there. So an added picture on the profiler, where it is a nice addition, is not needed, as the person can just look at the cat (unless the seller kept the cat in box mode, of course). As for the web market, if people are searching for a particular cat, they more then likely know what it is they are searching for, and what it looks like.
I agree, that prices on the web market is indeed a very nice added feature. With that said, people do have different methods of selling. So I feel it is the right thing to do to make prices on the website optional. Me, as a shopper, have the option of looking at a non-priced cat or not.
I just say what I did as an idea in case you are denied picture use.

RE: Profilers make playing KittyCats more interesting!
I don't think it's about "picture use". I think the issue is database scraping. I think talking about "pictures" is a shorthand way of talking about something that's more extensive, including all of the data fields for gender and whisker shape, cat age, etc. And not just one time database scraping, but persistent ongoing database scraping.
Callie may (or may not) have additional issues with reproduction of her artwork - I don't know - but my impression throughout this debate has been that KittyCats has never been happy about the database use but has grudgingly allowed it because as Callie said they don't want to stomp on 3rd party developers doing things for the community. And also because they can't really functionally stop it, only legally order it to be stopped, and they've been ambivalent about taking that route.
(Just my impression.)

RE: Profilers make playing KittyCats more interesting!
I would chime in as well that the picture is not what I find important about the profiler. The web market, searching by traits, extended pedigree, and that all important TP to the cat are the important factors. Price is nice, but it still saves hours of searching and I am glad it is back. If the artwork becomes a sticking point legally, I am sure there are plenty of people who will support it without the art being part of the profilers.

@Rene until Callie Cline gives the go ahead for use of the boards , I will not be placing the group profile boards up on Saucy Sassy's Deja Vu KittyCats Marketplace sim. If there is anything further to talk to me about. IM me.. I prefer to do business in Private..

RE: Profilers make playing KittyCats more interesting!
I for one am glad to see the profilers and web market coming back up for everyone that uses them.
With regard to the images I think we will just have to wait and see how Callie responds to this public request for permission to use them. I am sure that if there is a problem with them being used that there is still a way for Rene to fix the profilers so the images are no longer used.
With or without the images I think the profilers are worth the price and are a very useful tool for everyone.
