I had found a pure Burmilla - Chocolate Silver Shaded girl in my cattery from a time when this fur was the 2nd most recessive fur but her grandparents and one of the parents were from a time when the fur was the most recessive.
So, I used it to test Chateau Cat - Ocean Puff No. 1.
Her first Ocean partner was stubborn and kept passing his hidden fur, then finally after 54 days, she started to date a new partner and after one more Chocolate Silver Shaded, I got a Chateau Cat - Ocean Puff No. 1.
Since the pure Burmilla - Chocolate Silver Shaded can't pass anything other than one fur, Chateau Cat - Ocean Puff No. 1 could not have shown as visible fur unless it was dominant to Burmilla - Chocolate Silver Shaded.
Purity Proof
I wrote this on Feb 13, 2026 and the images are from that day:
* The day I had the kitten: 2017-01-25 (16:49)
* I remembered vaguely that Burmilla - Chocolate Silver Shaded
was the most recssive at some point, and here is proof from the forum:
* Then I checked: Furs discovered between 2nd February 2016 and Jan 25, 2017,
and only one of them was recessive to Burmilla - Chocolate Silver Shaded, Toyger - Caramel.
* Placement of these furs as of Feb 13, 2026:
Burmilla - Chocolate Silver Shaded 187
British Shorthair - Cream and White 111
Tonkinese - Bluepoint 104
Burmilla - Red Silver Shaded 183
Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White 112
Burmilla - Blue Shaded 137
Toyger - Tan 66
Foxie - Chestnut 167
Toyger - Caramel 195 Recessive to Burmilla - Chocolate Silver Shaded
* Toyger - Caramel was released on 14th December 2016:
42 days before my box was born.
3348 days ago from today.
The grandparents of my kitten box are older than 3348 days old, and one of the parents is too, so this kitten can't have any fur more recessive than Burmilla - Chocolate Silver Shaded, and this cat has a pure fur.
