I have wanted to do this event for so long but have never actually put it into action.

We will have a kitty show here at the Apache sim with a variety of different categories and prizes....yes....prizes. The prizes will be from me and the kitties will be judged by a panel of four different judges to eliminate bias. I will select my judges based on their honesty and ability to be unbias. In addition to the panel of four judges, myself and my manager Jadesil Resident will also judge. There will be 5 different judging tallies that I will review and if there is a tie we will have a new judge come in as a tie breaker judge. The judges scorecards will be based on a scale of 1 to 5 so we can have a quantitative measurement.

The entry fee will be 100L per kitty and you can enter maximum of two in each category. Categories are as follows:

1. Devoted Permapet
2. Love Worthy Females (females over 7 days old)
3. Tom Catting Males (males over 7 days old)
4. Boxed Goodies
5. New to the World Females (females under 7 days old)
6. Young Exploring Males (males under 7 days old)
7. Mega WHAT (megapuss's that are 7 days or older)
8. All the Tiny Treasures (live teacups, toys, etc)
9. Kitties with Bling
10. Gen Fur Fabulous

These are the only categories we will have for the month of July and keep in mind all kitties are required to be displayed on the Apache sim or designated area a week prior to the show date. You can display them prior to the judging date if you would like but this is not required. All kitties must be live other than the Boxed Goodies category. In Devoted Permapet's we can only accept Permapet entries. For the categories for kittens under 7 days old please unbox them at a time that will allow them to still be under 7 by the 31st of July. For prizes, each entry will receive a certificate for a free auction panel at Apache auctions. Categories prizes are as follows:

1st Place: Trophy, Linden Amount to be Established Later
2nd Place: Trophy, Personalized Kitty Collar
3rd Place: Trophy, Boxed KittyCat

We are also accepting sponsors to help fund the event. If you decide to sponsor you will receive a spacial advertisement space based on the amount of your donation. Please contact us if you are interested in being a sponsor.

I love the idea, and I'd love to see the cats everyone brings, so thanks for doing this!

I do have a question, though: I'm curious what the criteria will be for judging? there are may ways to view a cat and a lot depends on whether you go more for looks or breeding potential and even further, personal tastes in both areas.

Me, I'm in love with Russian Blacks, and I've yet to meet a Pink and White I'd allow in my cattery (that's not to say they can't be cute, Strings has some with Oceania eyes that I think are absolutely adorable). I'm not a fan of Mocha eyes, but put them on an Aby Fawn fur and I'll drool. Same with Gerbera Orange eyes and Bengal Tawny furs.

I guess my suggestion is to announce the full judging criteria ahead of entries, otherwise I worry that what should be a great fun time might cause some bad feelings among those not chosen.

Sanura you may send me a notecard through IM in world about the sponsoring if you would like or you can send one to Jadesil Resident if you can't catch me online. Basically we put up an advertisement board through the entire event and the size is based on your contribution. You can also add LM and notecard to the board if you would like.

I have a notecard with judging criteria based on each category. There will be a panel of 4 people who are not involved in breeding kittycats who will be judging so the judging is kept unbias. An example of some of the criteria are:

Cuteness of whiskers (rate 1 to 5)
Overall Quality of Kitty (rate 1 to 5)

There will be about 7 or 8 ratings for each category that are similar to those and for EVERY kitty the judges will individually rate on the scale of 1 to 5. My manager and I will also judge separately and we will tally all quantitative ratings after the judging is finished. I hope this helps and if you would like to see the judges notecard I can post that soon.

Don't forget to go to Apache CatSmart and rent your panel for the Live Kitty Show this month. Judging will start the last week of July but you are more than welcome to rent your panel and go ahead and place your kitty on the sim. We look forward to having you.

Judging of the kitties for the show will start on the 24th of July. Hurry and don't miss this event. We already have quite a few entries and would love to see more of the beautiful kitties at our show. Hoping to make this a semi-annual event.
