RE: regards to cat flipping..
oh no, I didn't count the ones in inventory! And there are a lot of live cats in there too that I didn't want to menagerie. My first cat is in there.

I am so glad I'm not the only one. Cool to find another oldies collector.

OMG and I thought I was the only one with that many kitties, *whispers* did you count the ones in inventory tooo Smile

Oh good another one. I'm happy to find another oldies collector.

I must say one of my favorite innovations of Kittycats over time was when they created the online cattery and I could search through my boxes for particular traits really fast. And count my boxes really fast, lol.

(I just checked and I'm at 15,668 boxes.)

Oh, there's lots of collectors. I am NOT checking Charm's alts to see how many she's got squirreled away there, probably several thousand. And I DO NOT want to know how larger her main Cattery is now, but last I looked (a LONG time ago), 10,000 sounds about right. I know she has several hundred in inventory. And I imaging, if we did a full audit, across all accounts, we'd probably find a few hundred, maybe a thousand, we have Pedigree records for, but cannot find.

KittyCatS is great about it, and would work through the list. But it just doesn't seem worth it to burden them with replacing cats we only know are missing because we looked.

Spring cleaning any one for the New Year?
I find motivation one Menagerie cat at a time.
I'm in the 4K boxes category.
I've been told cattery goes wonky and won't load if there are too many cats in it, but it's a very high bar.

RE: regards to cat flipping..
I too have a habit now of putting them straight in my cattery and possibly selling for a rainy day. I tend to sell at auctions rather than stores but i make sure to sell them to a price i feel comfortable with. I haven't got to the 4k cattery amount lols. I tend to menergerie a lot of lines that I'm working on if things aren't going a certain way plus it helps with gaining more K$ towards kibble/potions.

RE: regards to cat flipping..
A thousand? Maybe missing??? Wow, I never thought about an audit. I do have a list on cats I've bred and their traits to trace back for history and I noted if menageried or in inventory. I never made a list of cats I bought or boxes I never birthed. I don't know if I'm glad or horrified that I can't do an audit to see if I have any missing. ... Maybe glad? because that would be a big job to check everything everywhere.

I understand when you sell things the new owner has everyright to do what they want with it, with collectables people do this for investments but when its a line of kitties you've bred or cats marked down for 150L$ then as you pull up torgon see them marked to sell for 500L$ it makes you question why should i be selling so low when i get taken for granted like this.. I understand its hard to get a income on sl, kittycats cost lindens to feed i get that. But if you was in my shoes and someone brought your cat for a low price then instantly setup for sale for extra $ it shows they weren't wanting to breed or even use the kitty just to flip for extra income.. I know alot of people will have other opinons but this has happened multiple times, and many of my friends say if they see their own cats being "flipped" they just buy them back. Just had to get that off my chest. Please be nice with the replies as i am debating whehter to start slowly marking my cats up to the typical price of what a cat costs to feed/care for as alot of hardwork goes into breeding...

I have had this issue and so has my partner, Archer!!!! We also like to sell our kitties for lower prices to help others (appreciate so much that others also do this) and because we just enjoy breeding kitties in general to see what we can make and we do NOT do this to make a profit (just enough to support the kitty addictions aka food/milk). I've mentioned before about how I felt really hurt that people were doing the cat "flipping"... I've had people buy cats from us and then mark them up 3x's more than what we sold them for... still boxed... I get if they opened the kitty and it didn't work, then resold it as a live cat... Or if they bought it, then changed their mind and resold AS THE SAME PRICE THEY BOUGHT IT... But it sucks to put in a ton of work/love/time and then someone else just buys the cats to triple the price... It's made me question at times if I want to even keep going because I love cats and I love breeding them, it's just a shame when some people in the community "flip" the cats... When I see someone bought one of my cats and then used it to make other adorable kitties, it makes me so happy tbh and those are the people that keep me going.
