Kitty Jewel Question

Just wondering and wanting to hear from others how rare getting a kitty jewel is. In over a year and a half ,I have a total of two. Does that mean I am not buying enough or this is only something that big breeders get? Just curious and I confess slightly frustrated

Two jewels for a year soon, and it is not the money i think because I spent a lot

I can only speak from my experience. I got quite a few emeralds in the first couple of months I think (about 6, maybe?), but I was breeding a lot more pairs than now. I started breeding when the online cattery was created. I have got one or two gems recently, though.

I have wondered how new releases (tigers, special collections, etc) affect the production of gems, if at all.

I breed since July 2011 and up until recently, as a fairly large breeder 75-100 cats, I received two gems.
2 weeks ago or somthing when all the new Fancie kitties were found I suddenly received 3 gems in a little more than a week.
My guess is: they made more Fancie Kitties and changed the frequency in which gems are given.
This though is purely based on my own experience it could be this "luck" of me was an isolated matter.

Edit: I have no online cattery experience though maybe they are given there more frequently.

I don't think the online cattery would be different from inworld cattery for gems. My cattery grew steadily until about two months or so when I started reducing it and I still have over 100 cats, so perhaps it was more pairs=more chances in my case. And luck, yes. Which seems to rotate among catteries, from what we're all sharing here. Waiting for my cattery's turn again

Charm got one in the Cattery. We were amazed. It had been a lllooonnnggg time since she'd gotten one. When you get one, there, it shows a little jem icon on the box.
