I think I understand why this special did not contain a special size.
I don't know this for sure but my guess is this is because of the introduction of the 3 new sizes.
Perhaps this indeed would be a little too much extra value if all these sizes became available in specials as well.
I regret though the Toys and Teas are skipped from the specials too.
Via this post I like to request to allow the Toys and Teas, for old times sake, to be randomly available again in the future.

I'm confused, the limited edition kitties can't be toys teacups anymore? and what about the new sizes?

There was confirmation that this Valentine release didn't have any toy or teacup sizes - or any special sizes for that matter. And I was so hoping to quest for a toy yellow bumblebee to wear on my shoulder and rep out "Qbee Kitties!"
I'm not sure why toys and teacups weren't included for Valentine's Day 2013 and never thought to ask when confirmation was given, do you think it's because of the new sizes or to keep the tradition of Valentine releases never coming in a size in the past?
I fully support this notion though, I love toys and teacups and was so excited to see so many collections having them available!

I'm ok with not having random sizes in limited edition cats but maybe in the future it could be taken into consideration to give a special size to all LEs where it makes sense. Because I would have loved toy or teacup bees and bugs, petite bunnies, bigger de big reindeers etc...^^

Oh I would like special sizes to be available too, imagine a MegaPuss bug or bee, omg would be adorable and funny, and the tiny sizes would be so cute too.

Equinox confirmed indeed that there are no special sizes in this collection.
I understand also with this many new sizes the odds to get a special sized kitty might be too high (if this is the reason for not having them at all).
I like the suggestion of Elif if KC decided per special what special size would make sense to give out per collection and not all of them.

does that mean their offspring will not produce any of the sizes other than normal as well? I'm getting confused

No, I guess since size is not a 'real' trait that is hiding in out kitties but randomly generated at birth their offspring can be any size. Just not the specials that we buy from KC.

I would personally guess with the new sizes being so new that they didn't want to hurt anyone by putting them into the collection and had to remove sizes for all but there have been other collections in the past that did not include toy and teacups I think as well. I do miss seeing them though.

True. That Limited Edition cats can come in toy or teacup size is a rather new thing... So while people may like it, they can hardly claim it's for "old time's sake" ;-)
