I gave several ppl cats at xmas but couldn't send any food with them.
I know there are gift vouchers, but when someone is new to kittycats, kittydollars is a big learning curve -- so much easier if we could just send a food bowl with the cat.
Also to pass emergency food if a friend has run out of lindens!
The food included with costume cats is Trans. It would make life much simpler if all food could be.

I agree this would be awesome.
Not sure why KC has decided to make it no transfer though they might have a good reason for this I overlook at this moment.
But for the reasons you mention it would be nice if food and milk could become transferable.
Maybe even vita's as well.
Just yesterday I helped a new breeder starting up and helped to select good cats to start with, directed to some basic knowledge, a hud, food and a server and all such.
I noticed what for us is so normal is a pretty steep learning curve for a new person.
So I agree everything that can help us to help a new breeder starting up more fluently would be much appreciated.
I'm glad though this person is happily fascinated by his cute little new furry friends and can't wait for them to grow up and breed.
It feels like waiting for ages I learned when I told he had to wait two weeks but I'm sure this will become more normal in time.
"Two whole real weeks or virtual weeks?" was the shocked answer I got when I told it took that time for the kitties to be ready for the box XD
So I started to tell about the love shack but it is funny and recognisable when I just started he wants to breed his own kitties

I typically keep my "starter food" separately for this reason but man would it be handy to be able to go to the store and just buy it when needed to give.

agreed. I have arranged set ups with other breeders when they weren't going to be online for a week or two and you need someone to look after your kitties for whatever reason and it would be so much easier if you could just pass food back and forth! I'm guessing maybe they don't want people selling the food?

Perhaps they do this so that people have to visit the main store.
This way shoppers have to walk by all the stuffs for sale, cats, collars, special gadgets.
Otherwise I see no logic to the no transfer kibbles.
Perhaps they could drop the no transfer on a single size of kibble.
The one week supply or something.
So when a reseller/breeder sells a cat,
they can include a weeks food supply.
Keep the vitamins and larger sizes no transfer for sale only at
the main shop so they can get their store traffic..

In the past there have been breedables who have let others sell their food which caused problems by unscrupulous people. I think it is more overall for our protection. Knowing there is only ONE safe spot for your food means you would never buy it elsewhere, where the food might not be legit.

I have seen some resell of goodies which came with specials.
I think the answer as for why the food and such are no transfer lays there.
At least to avoid such in large amounts for people who quit with KC's for example.

And...
There are days that SL is being buggy and won't give you you kibble/milk/vita when getting it. You only have to go to Kittycats support about it, because it is the only place where it is being sold.
