White Tipped Black whisker - Ellen Ireland - 01-16-2024 04:26 PM

I think this may be a new whisker color: White Tipped Black. I'm not seeing it listed anywhere. The kitten's dad is a NostalgiCats Siamese.

It looks like this pedigree also puts White Tipped Black on the chart as dominant to Black Tipped White. Juliette has to hide Black Tipped White from her mom under her shown Silver, which is the only possible hidden whisker on the kitten.
I'm so excited - congrats on this discovery Ellen! I've been wanting this one - and IMO the tipped whiskers look their very best on Double Stubbies - a perfect first!

Hope I am uploading the image correctly.
Not sure if some other breeder got a smoke pulled by the new whiskers but here is proof that are recessive to Smoke.

WOW - Awesome Claudette. Not only does this show that White Tipped Black is recessive to Smoke, but it PLACES the whisker color between Smoke and Black Tipped White.

(posting your pics inline for others to easily see)
First picture shows that BabyKen's recessive is White Tipped Black (we already know the color is Dominant to Black Tipped White, so it must be from BabyKen)
Second picture shows another BabyKen kitten that is showing Smoke, thus his White Tipped Black must be hiding under the Smoke.
