We were wondering in chat: if the cycle of 7 special offspring is interupted (to potentially look at them for other hiddens by pairing with a trait puller) would it resume with the series where it left off when repartnered to gingerbread?

Yes, just like any other special offspring, it will resume upon breeding the two collection cats together.
