New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives - fabioazevedo Oh - 06-29-2016 07:10 AM Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White is dominant for Pandie - Brown & White ![]() RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives - Kayla Woodrunner - 06-29-2016 03:26 PM Yay! Thanks, Fabio! RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives - Reven Rosca - 08-09-2016 05:01 AM It has been a while since Fabao posted evidence that Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White is dominant to Pandie - Brown & White This pedigree more than suggests that it also is dominant to Ocicat Ebony Silver. ![]() Grandma Annika shows Ocicat Blue, and Grandpa Layton shows Ocicat ES. Mum Leona Shows Ocicat Blue and hides Ocicat ES or more recessive from Layton. I digged back into Layton's ancestors, and haven't found anything more recessive that Ocicat ES, which is present on both sides of his ancestry. This means that there is a fair chance that Layton's fur is pure. While this isn't what I would call hard evidence, it's a good starting point for further testing. Layton's pedigree for reference: ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives - HappyDaize Resident - 08-09-2016 07:39 AM That certainly looks like a good place to start with test matings, as the pedigrees do add up to suggest that Scottish fur is *likely* going to be Dom to the Oci Ebony SIlver. RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives - Ivy Lane - 08-12-2016 01:20 PM I found this while i was shopping for the Scottish fur it was bred by Dottie Idlemind this seems pretty conclusive that the Scottish is dom to the Aussie Blue Marble to me i followed the Aussie's line as far back as i could , the good thing with this is that it can not pass the Burmilla CSS, it only passed the Scottish ![]() the cat Dania does hide the Aussie Blue ![]() RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives - Arwen Swordthain - 08-25-2016 03:26 AM Update on current Scottish pairings I have. Scottish & Tonk Champange - first baby thet both threw hidden furs, trying again on Friday. Also have a Scottish paired with an Aussie Lilac, baby due on Tuesday. Will post results when I have them ![]() Both quite dominant furs but I hope at least to put a top end on it so we have a smaller range to test. Will also retask the snowshoe Red I am testing against the British once I get results from that. ![]() Not keen to test against the British until its actually placed though as it just confuses things. RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives - Songdog Woolley - 08-27-2016 07:25 PM Scottish Shorthair is dominant to Ocicat Blue: ![]() RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives - Kayla Woodrunner - 08-28-2016 12:46 AM Thank you, Songdog! That's a great proof! Updated the Fur List on the first post (keeping track of everybody's dominance proofs until they show on Saga's) http://kittycats.ws/forum/showthread.php?tid=26487 RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives - Arwen Swordthain - 09-02-2016 06:57 AM So finally at least one of my cats co operated, will be popping the baby to see if Dad did too. ![]() Also will be opening this one as soon as I can to see if Dad coperated here or not ![]() ![]() Hopefully one of these hides the Scottish so we can at least put a top end on the test range ![]() RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives - Arwen Swordthain - 09-06-2016 03:13 AM So I did a test pairing with my Scottish Shorthair and the Snowshoe Red I was using in the British tests. This is what I got. Already confirmed the Coffee & Cream is hiding in the snowshoe so either Dad passed his hidden or Scottish hides am popping the box to test. As you can see Dad hides Blue Marble. ![]() |
