Suggestion: Milk to specific cats - Chloe Platini - 12-06-2011 02:39 AM

So I have way too many cats, and lately I am unable to afford to buy milk with as much kibbles they eat Tongue I was wondering If it was possible, to be able to assign milk to certain cats by typing in their names in chat and they will be on milk with out me having to separate them into different areas/land/parcel. I think it would be a great idea to keep some kitties on milk, while others can still live with out it Big Grin

Thanks!

I am all for this suggestion! Like many others, I have cats that I only keep because... well... they're cute and stuff... but it would be good if I could turn off their milk-drinking, since I do not really NEED their kittens.
-Then my top-breeders could drink their milk in peace and get their kittens every week, while my "Hey-I'm-just-here-to-look-cute"-cats could sprawl out and relax and just pop a box every 10 days.

Puurrr-fect Big Grin

There is currently a way to do this set the cats you want to one group, for example Milk Kittehs Group and the rest of your cats to any other group. Then click your milk or auto server for group only. If you do use an auto server you will need to do one for food & one for milk though.

My cats all have to be rezzed to the same group, for land purposes (auto-return). I would love it if we could feed milk to only specifically named cats.

I would also like to see the ability to turn off/on milk for individual cats without having to switch groups as I'm sorting cats. Smile

Now that the cattery is out. I do really want this option. I do not need all of my cats in there to drink milk.

My suggestion for the Cattery:

Follow the "folder" model. It's familiar to users. Since these are cats, not files, call the folders "pens".

Question for analysis and user feedback: are multi-level pens required? Easier implementation would imply 'no'. But it may be a useful feature.

Allow the user to name the pens.

Allow cats, and boxes, to be moved from pen to pen.

If multi-level pens are provided, allow pens to be moved as well.

User option for Cattery: should new boxes appear in this pen? If not, new boxes go to a common "Newborn kittens" pen.

User option for Cattery: should we email you when a kitten is born? If so, include the name of the pen where the box was stored.

Boxes and cats moved from Second Life to the Cattery go the the special "General Population" pen.

Robo-cuddler: select no more than 2 cats to cuddle for 30 minutes. If you cuddle one for 15, then start cuddling the other, in 15 minutes you'll stop cuddling the first and can cuddle another. This requires direct web action: no queues .. if you want to be cuddling all the time you have to log in and do it by hand.

Pen options:
Per-pen food.
Per-pen milk.
Pens marked for per-pen food do not pull from the common supply. To move food to the pen you must log in, select the number of common bowls of food or milk to assign to the pen. If the pen runs out, the cats in it cannot eat or drink milk. If the common supply runs out, but the pen still has food or milk, the cats in the pen are fine but all others cannot eat or drink milk. This is a feature, not a penalty (some of us actually do intentionally starve certain cats).

If multi-level pens are implemented, a point for analysis/feedback: should food/milk serve only that pen, or should it serve that pen and all sub-pens within it?
