When the sign up plops up, you can just X it away, then hit the button next to the little webcam window to get in the queue to play with the cats.
The times I've tried it the cats seems to be sleeping or generally not interested, either way, kinda funny!

The cats were all not interested, but I had fun spying on the people in the office
