RE: Introducing "KittyCatS! Co.Op!" - *EVEN* More Markets are Joining!! - Song Indigo - 10-05-2014 04:30 AM As a new-ish member of the KC community, and keen buyer of the little critters, I hope the Co-op might think about forming an auctions group to consolidate all the various auctions going on at the many sims. My time zone is funky, and I seem to miss all the auctions, it would be so convenient to be able to join an auctions group and have someone post in the group just before an auction starts so I can get along. Also, I went to the page that supposedly advertises most of the auctions going on. I spent some time tp'ing around these auctions at the stated times. Many of the slurls led to dead ends, or no auctions happening. This is another good reason to have an auctions group, imho. Best of luck with the new venture. RE: Introducing "KittyCatS! Advertisement will be allowed for other markets in each of the participating markets groups, giving the community a chance to not only be a member of all these KittyCatS! market groups for advertising, but also the chance to meet other community members. So does this mean that members of the co-op can include other member sim groups in their advertising of events and auctions? I just want to be clear on this point. Also, how does one get one of those teleporters on their sim? Expiring Minds Want To Know ? Thanks! RE: Introducing "KittyCatS! Totally can't wait to read every thing. just read through the 1st post can't wait to read every thing RE: Introducing "KittyCatS! Yes, having just one group to join for advertisements would be nice, and to have it monitored to make sure that the advertisements sent are actually for KittyCatS kittens and not for other breedables. RE: Introducing "KittyCatS! Co.Op!" - *EVEN* More Markets are Joining!! - Beloved Ruby - 10-08-2014 01:26 PM Hello again everyone! I wanted to give you all information about the progress with the KittyCats Co.Op. At this time the owners are getting set up in a better discussion platform to address all the efforts that they will be working on together. This will facilitate communications between them as they are all in different time zones and, regardless of these time frames, they will be able to communicate in a convenient way for all. With that said, even though the Co.Op is still getting itself organized for future events, the Secondary Market owners have begun to make efforts to support one another with activities like these: 1. The Chateau Village is holding The October Harvest Festival with different activities, including display from many secondary markets, as well as auctions and a special Halloween Costume Party. If you haven't gone by, do so, and take a look at the beautiful displays and decorations Secondary Markets have on display, most with free gifties as well! This Festival is running since October 1st through October 31st. Go by and show your support as well! SLURL: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/The%20Enterprise/120/171/33 2. Collaboration auctions are happening with auctioneers from different markets aiding one another. We can already see the support given between market to market. I will try to put together a list of collaboration auctions going on and list it under the Auctions area for easy access to everyone. 3. New markets have been born, for example Julia Merosi's FelineS KittyCatS, with amazing features and offers, make sure to pass by to support this new Secondary Market! They also offer new auctions! Let's show Julia some love!! SLURL: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/The%20Enterprise/120/171/33 And well, that is just to mention a few things that are happening and are worth mentioning. In respect to the Advertisements in groups, nothing is yet concrete until the Secondary Market owners make a decision on how to do this without overloading everyone in spam!! However, the idea of a single special Co.Op group for advertising KittyCatS! exclusively and from all the markets involved sounds like an idea the will take to the table to consider. :-) Thanks for bringing up that point! Once again, the Co.Op is still in the organization phase, but this has not stopped markets from starting efforts to support one another. As part of the community, lets also support them!! OK IM SORRY THE OWNERS?????????????????? A Co-op is owned BY ALL OF THEM! I do not see that happening here! To tell us that the owners which by looking at the group owners of record is the original group of "FRIENDS" that all worked together prior to this so called co-op being formed! There is also not ONE good form of communication at all! there is not all of the information that is being discussed that impacts all of the co-op being handed out in the group or even to all of the members of the co-op individually! I ask that all of the members of the KittyCats Co.Op get on the google group for it so we can at least get the information easily within the group and can keep up on it whether we can get in sl or not. HOWEVER that does not take away from the fact that every time I ask about something in particular I have to ask one person in particular and that the only people in "charge" of a group that is supposed to be a cooperative where everyone owns it and has some say is down to ONE person! People are put in charge of events that were also decided for us prior to even being brought to the group as a whole. While I want to bring a good environment to my renters and do my best to work with others to get more exposure I am VERY hesitant to put all my eggs on this one co-op when it seems as it is in name only. You want a marketing group where only one person is in charge fine but DON'T call it a cooperative. I will gladly support it in that manner but I will most definitely also be looking for like minded people to start a true cooperative. Dolome Demonia The Kat Shack - owner RE: Introducing "KittyCatS! Co.Op!" - *EVEN* More Markets are Joining!! - Beloved Ruby - 10-15-2014 07:03 PM The KittyCatS Co.Op was created with the best of intentions to come together as a united group of sim owners. It certainly does not boil down to one person. The Co.op is everyone's, hence the use of owners (plural) not owner (singular). The fact that one person came up with the idea does not make that person the owner of the Co.Op. If that would have been the case, no ownership rights would have been given to other sim owners. I wish people would see that nothing right now comes down to just one person and that efforts are being taken to lift this endeavor with honesty, and true intentions. My post was a simple report on how things are starting to evolve thanks to the help of all the sim owners / Co.Op owners. I would like to make it clear that, even though the Co.Op was LickN Wonder's idea, it was never his, it was always everyone's. RE: Introducing "KittyCatS! Co.Op!" - *EVEN* More Markets are Joining!! - Kitten Longmeadow - 10-15-2014 07:14 PM Hi guys I'm going to chime in here and make the request that people speak to each other with respect. Please leave out judgments about people or actions and what you think of them. If you want to comment on ideas, please do, and please keep it to ideas and not "about people". Some of the concerns being brought up seem like they would be better handled privately between individuals, or between those involved in the co-op in their private groups, so I would encourage that to happen. Knowing most of you like I do, I am confident you can come together to work out any issues. Remember that our forum is a place to discuss ideas, opinions and to do so in as kind a way as possible. It's fine to disagree; we just ask that you abide by our guidelines of keeping posts respectful. Again, if you have an issue with someone, please work those things out privately. Thanks in advance for your cooperation. RE: Introducing "KittyCatS! Co.Op!" - *EVEN* More Markets are Joining!! - Tad Carlucci - 10-15-2014 10:41 PM Often ideas such as the KittyCatS Co-op run into problems. This usually results from the lack of a clear organization. The solution is to draft a governing charter and form a governing body. The idea is to have it clearly stated what is expected of each member, what are the rights, privileges, and responsibilities, if any. There are any number of organizations which the Co-op could model themselves after. Being a computer geek, Apache, OpenSSL, and similar bodies come to mind. They're probably far to complex for the Co-op, but I'm sure more appropriate examples could be found with a bit of web research. I would suggest that several Co-op members should begin with that research, borrow the good ideas they find, and begin drafting a consensus report. As work on that progresses, they should seek (even encourage) comments and suggestions from others, until arriving at a draft *all* members can agree to. Then, with that document in hand, the organization can begin to fill the various roles and implement the services required to support the organizational goals. RE: Introducing "KittyCatS! Just wanted to point out one thing, many, many new people discover KittyCatS in world and it's quite a while before they learn about this forum or even the KC group. Someone sees someone else walking around with a cat on their shoulder or riding a mega and they go "wow, where'd you get that?". Sometimes the first place they land is a secondary market with no idea what to do with that box they just bought. Yes, there are info boards on most sims that sell cats but most just walk right past them. Anything we can do to help ease people through the learning curve of KittyCatS will help them and the community as a whole. I know the CoOp is focusing on sim owners working together, but I believe educating new breeders will be a desirable side effect as more will discover auctions, classes, groups, forums and so on. An educated breeder is a happy breeder that will likely return to browse shops and attend auctions. I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes, and I wish those involved the best of luck. Noc |
