I'm just wondering if the problem may be that all breedable boxes have pretty much the same name. Like KittyCats. I don't really know since I never sold kitties in mp before. *edit Or because it's a one time item with no copy.

Oh, if you put multiple items with the same name into the same box, it automatically renames them with 1, 2, 3, etc. at the end. I'm not sure what happens if they are in different boxes, but it knows what is in each box.

One thing sellers do need to do is sync the boxes if they manually take something out. They update to the MP when you add things, but not if you only remove them. I resync and also immediately make the listing Inactive.

I dont see the issue either... It's a good way to sell the cats without spending loads on shop rent. The very single time the buyer had an issue with the delivery, while the box did sent the cat out, KittyCats managed to get it back from cyberspace and the issue was solved...

Actually, Malayaa, there is a new Beta on SL for the VMM (Viewer Managed Marketplace) now too:
https://community.secondlife.com/t5/Commerce/Viewer-Managed-Marketplace-Beta-Launch/ba-p/2926002

I'm not signing up... at least not yet. I usually like testing new tech, but don't want to try it until we hear back how it's doing with deliveries. It's one thing if it's me trying something new (like the KittyCats sensor), but my customers don't need to be their guinea pigs.

Oh this looks interesting....I don't think I will jump on the beta testing bandwagon right away either, but they did mention that eventually all Magic Boxes will have to migrate so definitely something to stay on top of! Thanks!

Good morning. I have kittycat and would like to put for sale in the Market Place. I know that to do that I need to use the magic box, but I do not know how to use this item. I have the magic box, but I know how to use it. Could someone explain me in detail the procedures that need to perform to use the magic box in the Market Place?

Status update on the new "non Magic Box" method of selling no-copy items, like gacha and KittyCats, called VMMI. VMMI is still in Beta test by the Marketplace. I was feeling brave and decided to give it a try. The links were on my merchant home page.

1) Downloaded the SL Viewer for VMMI
2) Logged on to SL with the viewer for VMMI and went to Me - Marketplace Listings up top.
3) Picked a box for sale, made sure the pedigree info was copied to my clipboard, then just dragged the kitten box onto the "drag and drop" area under the Me-Marketplace listings. It made a folder titled the name of my box up top. Right clicked on the folder and Create Listing. Then right clicked on it again to Edit Listing, which brought up the standard merchant listing that you can autofill and edit, add your images, etc.
4) The process went smooth and faster than with Magic Box. The old Magic Box listings are still there on my merchant home page, but now there is a section below for VMMI listings. I put up about 8 boxes, and looking at the store from a user perspective, it was seamless (can't tell the difference).
5) I have not tried "migrating" an existing Magic Box listing over to VMMI (that is next weekends project!).
6) My monitor broke (yay for technology) and by the time I made 2 trips to Staples and hooked everything up correctly, someone had bought one of my new "VMMI method" cat listings!! One thing that is cool, is that with VMMI it recognizes that your listing now has 0 inventory, and automatically unlists it until you restock (for example, if you have a gacha listing and have more of the same to sell). With Magic Box, I had to log in and tell it to delist every time I sold a cat.
7) It also appears from the user instructions that in the listing folder, we could also put copy items (like say a notecard ) and the customer would receive that along with their kitten box.

(crosses fingers that posting this status does not jinx my initial success of using the new VMMI lol)

Thanks so much for reporting in on this!

I've been curious, but haven't wanted to try out the Beta viewer. I'm assuming that I only have to use it as my viewer when I actually want to work on the MP listings. I'm also wondering if the size of my own personal inventory has any effect on the listing or delivery process. I've been planning to organize and clean mine out for months.

Does this new method require the SL viewer? If so, is it ever going to be workable with viewers such as Firestorm (I hate the SL viewer)?

As of now, it requires a special version of the SL viewer, which is in Beta testing. I'd like to see it in FS too, and ditto re: the SL viewer! Here's the nice vague answer from SL:

I use a Third Party Viewer. Will I need to move to VMM?
Yes, you will. The TPV development community has been updated regularly on the timeline for VMM, and some of them are planning to include these updates. Please check with your TPV for more information.

I saw that Firestorm was encouraging merchants to take part in giving feedback about VMM to LL, but I haven't heard what their own plans are.
